I think I know what you're talking about because I had the same problem with the changes in Word 2010. When using the find featture, if you want only the next search item to come up instead of every instance in the document, after typing control F, click on Advanced at the top of the box that opens and the old original "find" feature appears. Hope this is what you were asking. I've also used the F8 key in macros to move to a specific key which works well. You might want to investigate this feature of word. I love using macros. They are wonderful for speeding up your work and simplifying things. Good luck!
