I've noticed something interesting about beggars lately - just saying

I joined a bunch of local facebook groups for selling and buying items (trying to get rid of a bunch of furniture and household things). Those groups have been FULL of people begging for things lately. They are usually posts of "I'm a single mom and I can't afford to buy my kids any presents" blah blah blah. Literally begging strangers on FB groups to buy their kids presents....

Now I'm a cynical person. The world is full of scammers nowadays, so I automatically don't trust people when I see this kind of thing. There are TONS of organizations who help families in need like this (and I post as much), yet if you say anything to these people you get told off.

And people are always giving them stuff! I truly dont understand why so many people are so quick to want to hand out money/items to these beggars... I really don't. Do they not see these people are going on MANY different groups with the same sob story - likely fake - begging for free stuff? And likely getting stuff from organizations too?

Its very much like those beggars on the freeway offramps making better money than a lot of us hardworking people!

I don't understand the mentality of people who just throw their money away like that. They must have more money than common sense.
