Scammers stealing CET certificates - MadHatter Posted: Jun 2nd, 2025 - 6:27 pm
For those working online, as I did, words of hard-won wisdom: No company thinking of hiring you has any legitimate reason to demand you send them a copy of your AAERT CET certficate. Give them the CET number and let them verify it with AAERT. Also -- ditto to driver's license. Just don't send a copy. Don't do it. I am fighting identity theft right now because I did send the CET. I refused to send the driver's license and they said "You have trust issues we don't like." They didn't pay me for 2 transcripts and now they are using my name and old CET # to scam transcription companies. Be smarter than me. Please.
