I believe in my state (NY) you have to have wages in 2 quarters out of the last 4, not sure they have to be consecutive. I assume that IC earnings don't count as wages. They calculate your rate based on your highest quarter or something to that effect. Been years since I had a boyfriend who claimed but that's what I remember.
