I have not heard this, but our minimum wage - is going up slowly (except NYC)

I checked it out, and only NYC is going up to $15 by 2018, the rest of NY differs. Where I live:

"For workers in the rest of New York State, the minimum wage will increase to $9.70 at the end of 2016, and then will increase in $0.70 increments at the end of each year, until the minimum wage reaches $12.50 at the end of 2020."

Pretty sure that's not happening too fast, but you never know why they decide things.

I know our UE laws are terrible in NY in that part time UE is virtually impossible for us to get in this profession (goes by days not hours), so if they are going to fire us it may not be for awhile.

Not sure if I am happy or unhappy about that frankly.
