Nuance has 14,000 employees but N has more than 1 division and the divisions are generally separate entities so to speak.
Healthcare is one division, there are others of which I cannot recall - such as optical scanners (was Paperport), etc.
Depends on how the company is organized.
So, I doubt that it is 33% of 14,000.
You can guarantee that if Nuance gave a severance pay, it is because it had to by law.
Nuance does not do anything it does not legally have to do.
