One thing I found in many contracts (after the fact, unfortunately, because I didn't pay attention initially) is that they have clauses about deducting pay/holding pay if a certain length of notice isn't given or a certain type of notice, etc. I thought I had a case previously and after having the contract gone over in greater detail, my hands were tied because they were actually within the parameters of the contract. Needless to say, I have learned to read the fine print now before making decisions.
