It was very interesting. Except focus groups, which were, as you said, multiple people all talking over each other. I refused to do any more of those. But interviews were interesting and the change of pace was fun.
I don't know what the going rate is for non-med transcription, but I did my own conversion from "per audio minute" to "per line" and the pay was AWFUL. No comparison. I wonder why the difference is so great.
Still, variety being the spice of life and all, I agree that it's a good backup option.
