Here's the math, averaged at 60 cents per minute:
Type as fast as the dictator speaks:
$36/hour
Type 2 minutes per 1 minute audio:
$18/hour
Type 3 minutes per 1 minute audio:
$12/hour
Type 4 minutes per 1 minute audio:
$9/hour
Type 5 minutes per 1 minute audio:
$7.20/hour
How fast can you type? General transcription usually takes a lot longer than medical. There aren't repetitive phrases, there is a lot of internet searching, different dictators, etc.
This whole profession has gone down the tubes.
