That people enjoy when they actually see someone taking time with their kid, no matter how hurried and harried they are. Docs are in a hurry, and being a doc is not a good job to have anymore, so I think it's kind of nice.
We have a doc friend and he said it's horrible. He works in a clinic and also the hospital, and it pays diddly in comparison with what he spent for med school, the years of internship, and the amount of hours he now has to work just to pay his bills. He started being a doc back when being a doc was a good thing, went ahead and had 4 kids, who he now has to put through college, and he's barely making it.
