If the company gets on your about your line count, hopefully you can tell them that your quality is so good and that is what truly matters.
Next, ask them to share any tricks or hints to work faster with their platform. Tell them that on other systems you have easily made XXX lines and it seems to be their system/sound quality/less desirable dictators/etc. that are creating the problem.
If you are not being paid by the hour, what the heck is the difference how many total lines you produce in a pay period? Tell them you are trying your best, you know you have always produced way more than that number, and there seems to be a glitch in something that you just cannot figure out.
Are they actually counting spaces? Are they counting any demographic information? Are you getting paid for the signature line or any headings, headers and footers? When a company takes these things out of the equation, it severely decreases the line count.
I know that any company can fire someone for no reason whatsoever, but at least asking for help in improving and documenting that conversation may give you leverage if you can file for unemployment.
