who handles their dictation; but if you contact the HIM (health information management) department, formerly medical records, and speak to the director of that department or the transcription coordinator/clerk, they would definitely know. HR would know if they hire hospital employee scribes, but sometimes individual physician who have privileges at a hospital have their own scribe employee who shadow them about while seeing their patients. My friend's daughter, who is an RN for a physician, did this; but she was not an employee of the hospital but of that individual physician.
