when I first first started years and years ago as an IC it was 6.5 to start and then I got a raise to 7 shortly after since I had just graduated. They are killing this field...greed is the reason but that's okay b/c they cannot keep going on like this for long. Bringing in speech, etc., also is killing it and making other companies pay less since all these other ones are. IMO.
