The reviewer for these QC editors has lost his or her mind. - Ridiculous errors.

Since when does

...interrupted 5-0 rapid absorb VICRYL

get corrected to

...interrupted 5-0  Rapide absorb VICRYL?

Is this not supposed to be either VICRYL RAPIDE or rapid absorb VICRYL? Is my google machine broken?

You are absolutely right... - op

I have had some crazy errors since this new plan started, and it's almost as if the report was audited by someone who does not speak English as a primary language. When they put in the corrected text, it simply makes no sense much of the time. I hope you requested a reversal of that one!

Fiesa Reviewer Number
May 18, 2015

I seem to always have the same reviewer name on my FIESA feedback.  Has anyone else noticed that when you check the reviewer HRID to the report, it's a different number?!?  There is no way a reviewer has different HRID numbers.  It was stated before that you could run a trending report that shows the reviewer's office.  Does anyone know how to do that?  I can't seem to figure it out.  Is there anything they do that is transparent, straight-forward, a ...

For TT/MT/Editors:
Feb 21, 2015

The day we suddenly ran out of work in early February was when another MTSO got the account.  For my fellow MTs who are suffering from no work from that account, you can go to TTS, who is still hiring for it. Line rate for employees .01 cent less than TT but they pay headers, which TT did not.  You can make the same (.01 cent more if you decide to be an IC rather than employee).   I hope this info can help some who need the work and no longer have it.  Doubt IMEDX will ever g ...

QC/QA - What The "Reviewer Display Name" Tells You?
Oct 21, 2013

I've been curious for some time what the "Reviewer Display Name" listed in FIESA really tell us about who is reviewing our work.  For instance, I've heard if you have US in the name, so like "Jane Doe NTS-US" as the Reviewer Display Name, that would mean that the reviewer was in fact in the US and worked for Nuance.  I think there are probably ones that are reviewed by offshore, but I'm not sure how they appear. But what about other things in their names.  So, what ...

To All MT/MLS/Editors/QA - Please Read
May 18, 2010

This is my yearly ode to all of you during MT WEEK, and I want to again express my humble opinion.  For just a few minutes, please put aside your depression and anger at your profession and just take a deep breath and listen to what I have to say.    I am truly awed by what you all do. What other profession would you have to be a medical terminology specialist, pharmacology specialist, English language expert, AND a computer/software expert all in one?  There is no other pr ...

Editors? How Long Did It Take You?
Apr 07, 2011

I've been an MT for many years but I am new to SR editing and I am feeling kind of incompetent.  Today it took me 45 minutes to edit 1 note which was 57 lines long   I've worked for 5 hours today so far and I have 500 lines.  For any MTs out there who switched over to editing, how long did it take you to get up to speed with it and earning a decent hourly wage?  For the experienced editors, about how many lines do you edit per hour? I do like the com ...

I Think We May Be Secure The Need For Editors.
Jan 04, 2013

I'm back to editing after a few years away from it and can't believe how bad the software still is. The company I worked for 3 years ago used better software and the drafts were not that bad. Now I'm with a different company using not the best editing software. Not sure what the docs are using, but the VR really does a bad job, even with very good dictators. On words it doesn't understand it ignores them and then picks up when it understands it again. The errors it is makin ...

Editors Expected To ..... ?
Apr 13, 2013

I started a new client for an MTSO recently. One ESL dictator's H&Ps are so out of order they require a ton of reformatting. This is the order he dictated: History of Present Illness, Past Medical History, Chief Complaint, Plan, PE, Review of Systems, Assessment/Plan. The template has to have formatting changed (bold headings and point size), the guy is very difficult to understand, does not use proper grammar and needs most sentences restructured. He slurs through the Review of Systems ...

SoftScript Editors

Hi There! Just curious if there are any SoftScript editing staff out here. I seem to be struggling a lot with making any money since beginning there. Not here for negativity just thought maybe someone has some suggestions of how I can increase my productivity from those who have been there longer and maybe tel ...

Question For Mainly VR Editors/transcriptionists
Dec 17, 2014

So for those of us that are looking for jobs who have worked for Nuance doing straight transacription and will most likely need to accept positions with a large amount of VR editing, what is a realistic in terms of hourly VR lines that are edited?  I am assuming that most companies have similar averages of what transcriptionists edit within an hour. ...

Voice Recognition Editors Pay Rates
Sep 04, 2011

I have an account that is transitioning to voice recognition which will take a couple of phases to fully implement.  For a few months, they are going to need editors to check over some of the reports.  Could I get some input on what kind of rates editors are charging?  I've heard of by line, by hour, and by dictated minute, but not sure of the amount of each.  This would be hospital Radiology editing and I'm in the PA/MD region.  ...

Editors: What Percentage Of Your Time Is Not Compensated?

For MDA Editors Who Transferred To Service That Got Account...
Mar 21, 2015

I find it interesting that the specs have changed.  I'm happy to see these changes...      Doctors names in report verbatim.      Headers abbreviated verbatim.  (LABS, MEDS, HISTORY, HPI, etc).      Copy-Paste requests verbatim.      Skip silence (for dictators who have never heard of the pause command.  Will dictators finally get the message that mumbled abbreviations with B, C, D, E, P, T, ...

QA Editors - Are You Paid For The Whole File Sent To QA Or Just The Blanks You Correct
Sep 12, 2013

Thinking about applying for a QA editor position. I always wondered how QA people are paid. If the latter is true, then do you get paid for just the line that blank is on? ...
