I quit the Q last month after my account vanished without any warning and am happily working for another company. I got a call today from some lady from MedQuist asking me if I would answer some questions regarding why I left. I told her I was working at my current job and could not take the time at the moment (something that rarely happened at MQ - having work, that is). Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask and how you answered their questions? I guess I'm just flabbergasted that this despicable company, so intent on getting rid of all their American workers and lacking any kind of respect for its employees would hire people to call former employees asking why they left?? I mean, that is something a GOOD company who was interested in KEEPING their employees would do - call to find out why they left and how they can improve as a company, not such a hostile company as MQ. I swear these people are certifiably NUTS! I have never worked for such a bizarre company in my entire life - they defy all logic, they really do, LOL! Jeez, Louise!

Geez, that was a great opportunity to let them know what is going on with the company and how frustrated everyone is. I understand you didn't have any time, but I would have unloaded on her. The whole thing with MQ just boils down to shareholders wanting more dividends from the shares they own so off shore the work and expenses are lower and profit should rise. Capitalism that is what it is.

Exactly yogamom! I just received my call from them as well, and I took the opportunity to tell her exactly what the issues were, pay cuts, benefit cuts, increased production and quality standards, no work or work that globals will not do because it is so bad. I almost choked when she asked if I would return. I wanted to ask her if she was smoking crack, but I know she is just an employee doing her job. Felt pretty good to tell someone how rotten the Q really is, not that it makes any difference, but still I feel better. Onward and upward troops!

receiving a call. It turned out to be a company that Q had hired just for this. I cannot remember the specifics but it was alarming what was said. Does anyone remember that?

I think the poster said she/he got a call from one that didn't show up on caller ID but it turned out to be an outside company asking the questions. Wasn't there then a followup call from Q? I fully plan to tell them the specific points they need to correct, unless the call comes from India...in which case I will hang up.

truly gave a rat's patoot what any of its workers (or former workers) had to say about the company, maybe the time to listen is while they're STILL EMPLOYED, not after they've already thrown in the towel and left.

seems I recall something about a former Q MT getting inudated with all sorts of telemarketing on her cell phone after she gave them the number.... can't recall much else about the incident, however.

What was more alarming is that I started getting multiple marketing texts on my cell phone shortly thereafter. Had to re-register it on the Do NOT CALL list.

And yes, the original call was from a firm hired by MQ to do their exit interviews. Second call from a MQ employee in Human Relations confirmed it.

I too left the Q last month under the exact same circumstances. After 2 pay cuts I logged on one Monday morning, and POOF.... my account of 10 plus years was GONE! I haven't received a phone call from this company from H--- yet, but I work outside the home now. The past couple days there has been a number on my caller ID starting with 360 area code, but no message. Maybe they do some kind of random draw or something. As to why they would call to ask "what happened....?" Huh, what part of "I have bills to pay," don't they understand? Best of luck to you as an MT. I miss it, but would forever be haunted that someday I would be working happily away, and receive the awful news that MT had gobbled up yet another company.....the one I had gone to.

consulting firms. Sometimes good comes if it, sometimes nothing. Sometimes it's just pure BS.

If they are thorough, one thing they should also do is find out why MTs, if any, chose to remain here.

I got a call like this last night. I was more than happy to share my thoughts about MQ (not that it will matter). Does anyone in corporate really wonder why MTs leave after their pay is cut 40% due to SR plus having what little benefits we have taken away? I had to remind myself the lady was just a person doing her job. This type of call is just another example of the corporate mentality at MQ.

I also got that phone call after I finally quit the Q. They actually asked what it would take to get me back...my reply- pay me what I am worth and give me consistent work! Never heard from them again, what a surprise. Good luck and best wishes to all who still work at the Q.

Honest to Pete, this woman has no clue about pronunciation. A couple of reports ago she's reading a radiology report and says very clearly "primitive destruction" and then goes on to spell it "permeative." Those are two very different words and to me have very different pronunciations. Now she's on a patient who has had chemoradiation therapy, "altima" and zometa. Umm, you mean Alimta? I never do this. I always figure the anonyances are part of the job, but this is making me CRAZY!!! I have a NP who dictates 15-20 min dictations and really only should be about 5 mins. I have to speed her up like crazy. Her favorite thing is the dictate at the busiest station around and pauses FOREVER because she's sooooo nosy and has to make sure she listens to everyone elses conversations around her. Seriously? I've been an MT for ages now and started out with straight typing, went to VR for awhile and am now back to straight typing. I LOVE the company I'm with, but am so tired of typing and wish to go back to editing. So, does anyone work for a decent company that only has VR? I chose my fate. When I started my job, I wanted hours that I could work when my kids are sleeping and that wouldn't interfere with the benefits of being a stay at home mom.
