PCs are looking for suggestions - to enhance Fluency

They want our suggestions on what would make Fluency better. Any ideas?

1. Many years ago there was an MT/ME assigned to the design team (if not full time at least part time). This person gave a much needed perspective of what an MT will actually use/need and eliminate the those functions that were too cumbersome and time consuming, after all, time is money. They should bring this role back, as they really need guidance here.

2. Instead of bogging us down with more commands and things that don't work well or cause us more work and time, I think they should concentrate on fixing things that are already known issues.
Including but not limited to:

Doctor names with question marks which are due to communication errors between the hospital and our system. Fix it! It's a waste of time to reselect all of those names.

Accelerate Silence Playback. Loss of speech recognized text may occur when Accelerate silence playback is enabled. "To avoid loss of speech recognized output, the best practice is to disable the feature until Accelerate Silence Playback can be made more robust." So lets make it more "robust" already.

Trailing zero rule. The Document Checks scan identifies trailing zero rule errors and includes them in the Error List. When the text associated with the error is enclosed in parentheses; i.e., (81.0 mg), the text corresponding to the error does not highlight in the report. Do we really need this at all, or is it just something more to do on our part.

Cycle Capitalization. The cycle capitalization feature (Ctrl + Shift + A)does notwork on words enclosed in quotes or parentheses. This would be useful if it worked.

Expansions. First letter/word of multi-word expansions does not capitalize. I think a fix for this is very important. How many times have we had to expand a short form only to find that the fist word in the sentence is not capitalized. This is used much more than the auto check age/he/she thing that does not work well anyway. They need to fix this.

Insert Name. When highlighting an inaccurate name in the report and then using the Insert Name feature to replace the name, the newly inserted name remains highlighted, and the next keystroke inadvertently deletes the name. This function doesn't work either, so we have to enter the name twice. Again, a waste of time. Fix it or leave it out.

This list is quite long, so in the interest of time the software design team can look at their own "Known Issues" list and fix what is there. The workarounds only waste our time making us less productive. I don't want to use their "workarounds" anymore. If the function doesn't work leave it out until it does. Nonworking program functions don't help us, they hinder us, it's that simple.

Admit defeat, ASR, does not work. Scrap it and go back to straight typing. The accuracy rate would increase as well. Of course, the less educated will find that they can't do the job without the occasional help ASR gives. And I do mean occasional, I see the mistakes that sound right and are left in the reports all the time..

How about they log in and work for a day in it to see how it works, dictators and their horrible sound quality and all the jumping around needed from each different facility/client profile? Instead of just sending a damn email get into it and figure it out!

Previous reports again, the ccs on previous reports, and the dictated for reports.. In other words give me my access to DEP back so I have some chance of finding things that the inconsiderate doctors fly through

For me they need to change the color combo in the spell check.. Bad enough it is small...at least to my eyes and if there is a way to make it bigger please tell me how...but I find the white on orange is hard to see sometimes.

I used to FOR YEARS and years, just hit shift H and typed in cur and it spelled </CURRENT MEDICATIONS/> Now with this 6.1 upgrade, it spells out </CURRENT ALLERGIES/> and I am messing up big time with reports. I am looking for suggestions for a keyboard. I have the Logitech Illuminated wired keyboard presently with a plastic cover, which I really like, but the cover is pushing over the f, g and h keys. Although I know there are still some MTs at LM very happy with their work flow, there are MANY, MANY of us who are not. Instead of wasting time advertising on the job board, reviewing resumes, etc., why not give some of us MTs those accounts? Why not at least OFFER your current MTs more work, before hiring more? I'll start off with some office supply suggestions. Code books have really thin pages, and really teeny writing, so you will want to highlight a FEW choice items.
