Really discouraged.  Just laid off from job of 7-1/2 years with a voicemail.  Nice.  Have taken several tests, the last of which said I wasn't skilled enough for them (after 26 years?).  Got a job but terrible hours and not good reviews on company.  To be truthful, I'm not even sure I want to do this anymore.  We certainly don't make the money we used to so why I am working 7p.m. to 3 a.m. after all this time?

I am struggling today to even work. I was with Nuance for 4 years and they just went downhill with a new pay plan among other things. I now work for SS and unfortunately cannot keep my head in my work. So yes I just applied today to outside businesses, getting out of MT altogether. I know someone else that was just laid off via voice mail from her MT job..wow places really do that? That is terrible!

I accepted a job with Nuance but with everything I am reading, I am not sure if it is even worth the aggravation.

I did collect unemployment but since work had slowed down tremendously, it did not amount to much.

What a fun job we all have! I am waiting for the shoe to drop soon on the company I work for. The work has dropped off significantly and it is like a feeding frenzy with everyone trying to work. I am so sick and tired of the ups and downs. I am going to wait until after March, as I am going on vacation and don't want to start to look for anything now, but I have got to find another line of work. Good luck to us all! A voice mail is really cold, but they just don't care. How did this happen? Well I know how it happened and it saddens me. Also don't work for Nuance, you would be better off in retail!

well I guess that answers my question about Nuance. Not really sure at this point what I want to do. There was a time when it mattered that you had experience and took pride in your work, and were rewarded for that. That time is gone.

getting out of the MT business altogether. I worked for Nuance for 4 years, until they started with their crap about the pay and QA and QC and everything else. Now I work for Softscript, no communication, my mentor just quit out of the blue and I have never heard from my PM and the work used to be good but it seems like I get crap now...my first day of work I had one account, (I had 2 hours training) and 10 minutes after I started I ran out of work so they had to give me another account I had no clue what to do on!! and now here I am 6 accounts in my pool and 6 different acct specs and they jobs come up randomly :( So I am applying outside of the home..I dont even care if it is at the gas station.

When you have that many accounts and have to remember all the different account specs, its mind boggling. Then they say well read the account specs each time you get on a different account. Yeah we have time to read it all over. Then when you take too much time they yell at you for your line count being low. Bipolar company if ever. Do this, do that, no don't do this, don't do that.

My CCM just called to let me know Medquist fired her.  She was the best CCM I have ever had with the company (in terms of calling back, answering emails, etc.) and no doubt that is why the laid her off.  I have been looking for another job and now will be looking all the harder.  Medquist is shooting themselves in the foot and I hope it hurts! ...

After trying to have enough work today, barely having it, my stomach is in knots.  As a single mother I cannot function any longer with the burning in my stomach from this place.  I was a buy-out a few months ago, where I was perfectly happy at my job.  Can someone PLEASE enlighten us and tell us the true story.  Were you making your quotas, working your shifts, any write-ups, too much time off....or were you randomly laid off/fired just because that is M Modal's way.&nb ...

What A Concept -- Lay-offs Due To Lack Of Work

Earlier this week, my employer was forced to lay off MTs.  What a concept -- only keeping enough employees for the amount of work coming in.  I have worked for other less considerate employers who don't care whether or not we have to sit and wait and scrape and beg for work, (MQ, FN), and this really blows my mind.  They actually want to take care of us so that we have enough work.  Yes, it is unfortunate for those who were laid off, but only keeping the best of the best ...
