Well, I guess we don't have to worry about layoffs again with the loss of this last big account.  We will thin the herds out for them.  Such a cleaver move on their part. I was hoping to stay here until retirement but....  Medquist is even beginning to look good.  At least they don't try and flatter you as they stick it to you. The rewards for doing a REMARKABLE job are just endless, aren't they?

clever move - good summation

I figure you can expect quality transcription if you respect your employees enough to pay them enough to live on, and we have delivered quality, dedictation, as much perfection as they have required. But you get what you pay for. Those of us who may be forced to remain are also clever, and we may still have the last laugh when they go under due to low quality work and loss of accounts. I don't think their new grads are going to be able to compare to experienced MTs on these high level accounts. But then, they think anyone can do the minor edits their wonderful voice recognition system requires. We will see.

MQ - are you kidding?

They were one of the first to use this technique. Telling you how wonderful you are while loading 100 different accounts in your que overnight, saying, "You can do this, TEAM!" And this happens simultaneously with changing the bonus structure that reduced a well-producing MT's income anywhere from $300 to $600 per month.

Fortunately I was able to crunch the numbers quickly and immediately sought and accepted a second job FT, MQ FT too for a month (yes, 80 hours a week for a month), then MQ PT, and finally phased them out since my new job had great OT, lower pay than MQ, but in the long run I was able to get back on an even keel after making other extreme financial sacrifices. Also, I was raising 2 children on my own.

What upsets me most about your situation and mine with MQ was the fact that no notice at all was given. I was living within my means, but made some decisions a month earlier that I would not have made knowing my means was about to change drastically.

BTW, the company I left MQ for lost the account 2 years later and again I was forced to be back in the finding a job/learning curve vacuum, which put me in another near-devastating financial situation.

This just doesn't end. I don't get my hopes up any more. I'm working for a fine company now, but very hard and demanding account, strict schedule, and I'm slowly trying to work my way up to $15 per hour, currently making about $12... a sad cry from the $20 to $35 (and sometimes even more with bonuses) I previously pulled in.

I guess I went on too long, but just wanted to tell you that MQ was the writer of this "tell them they're great, here's brand new and better bonus, and by the way, don't look now, but you're being stabbed in the back" mentality. Not sayin' MQ won't work for you, but IMO they pay someone very well to figure out how to increase their bottom line, at any expense.

Newest BS--QC Grid
May 27, 2015

An email was sent to QC stating that even though we are pretty much just doing a second pass editing job now and on production only, it was stated they still expect us to send feedback to MLS.  So instead of using Fiesa for its intended purpose we are suppose to go back to sending feedback emails.  First of all, from reading posts on here it has been stated by many that QC error feedback doesn't count for anything with regards to pay, etc., so why waste time looking at it.  S ...

This Newest Decrease In Pay Reinforces My Decision
Mar 02, 2010

to quit.  I gave my notice last week.  CCM called and talked me into staying.  I said I would try it out a couple of more weeks.  The next day I got 2 ASR reports, one a 9 minute report with over 200 corrections and a 4 minute report with 56 corrections.  I was so ticked off that I just logged off on Friday and haven't logged back in since.  I haven't checked my e-mail, so I don't know if I have been fired yet.  This newest screwing makes me ...
