TTS - pleasures of spending the past 4 months - scribetimes

Posted: Apr 03, 2013

The pleasures of spending the past 4 months being micromanaged at TTS has resulted in my leaving for greener or shall I say different pastures.  I actually am very glad I learned the eScription platform...it is a pleasure to use.  My account with TTS was a real plumb ripe for the picking...sweet and fast...really didn't have much trouble making 350 lph editing; however, despite hitting this line count, I barely made more than $10 an hour.  Well, this notwithstanding, I persisted working hoping to break the sound barrier of 450 lph so that I could raise my earnings...i am sorry but i just don't feel great about blanking and not researching anything.  We are told to blank and move on to the next document.  My account ran out of work a few times a week, however, they never saw it fit to provide me with a secondary.  Kept my 99% accuracy and my line count where it should be and got tired of begging for a secondary.  Gave them my notice and received a scathing 3-page diatribe from the ice cave about how I wasn't working during my designated shift hours, which was quite impossible when I was running out of work.  Frankly, I didn't read the entire thing because it consisted of a laundry list of dates and times I wasn't working due to running out of work.  My take is that they over hire.  There are no account managers, only one "escription team" to which one must address any and all questions.  Heaven forbid you have a question...you may have to wait 24 to 48 hours to get any response.  A lot of emails are generated by some type of robotic system it seems.  The final thing to watch out for is that their software is encrypted with spyware and malware which bloody well screwed up my PC.  I suppose I just wanted to warn unsuspecting editors that, although they put a positive spin on having to produce a minimum of 250 edited lines per hour each and every hour, any hour you fall short will be questioned and you better be ready for excessive micro-management to such an extent that any mature adult will feel they are working for a group of frustrated gustapo.  Other than that they are excellent.

Yep, been there, done that-LOL - exTTS-nm

I enjoyed reading your post, not because of the content, but your writing style is very entertaining. :-)

I was just offered a job with TTS. Tell me more about eScription. I won't go with a company that has a crappy platform like the one I'm using now. How efficient is it?

Yes, Escription is a great platform, but when you're paid 3 CPL, it's very hard to make good money. I've an ex-TTS employee also. Glad to be gone. You are so right about the micromanaging!!

The platform is great-but that's about it! - ExTTStoo

Like the other poster said, if you want to work for 3 cents a line, be constantly micromanaged and tied to your seat, constantly audited by QA, and stuck to an exact schedule with little to NO flexibility, then TTS is the one for you.

Don't get under the Dictaphone lead at TTS-YIKES! - ExTSSer

Spending More Time Fixing Demographics Than Transcribing
Jul 14, 2010

I signed up for college this fall to get a HIT degree and hopefully get out of transcription. Seems I spend so much time looking up incorrect demographics, patient account numbers, etc., due to dictors entering the wrong information, and with the company I work for, it counts against us, YET we dont get paid to lookup demographics and fix errors, but its our responsbility. I am finding this so frustrating and spending 9 hours a day to make barely 90 bucks. ...

Webmedx - Hidden Charges In Health Spending Account
Dec 29, 2010

Today I get the paperwork from the HSA that we had the option to join for the new insurance.  Included is a bunch of tasks they want us to hurry up and do (which we cannot do since they have not given us insurance cards and their website won't let us register without numbers off the card).  Also included is an "account fee and rate schedule".  They get to charge us $15 to set up the account and $2.95 every month thereafter.  They say this "may" be paid by our employer (y ...

Been Gone From MQ For A Few Months Now
Dec 17, 2011

I've been gone from MQ for about 5 months now, working at the front desk at a local group of docs office.  I learned how to schedule patients and meetings,  take payments, do the office bills, and file claims and bill insurance for patients and I've got to say, I never gave a thought to much of the person working the front desk.  I have been yelled at, threatened, given dirty looks and was once even told that I was an "old, ugly hag".  All this usually happens when ...

Months Of Time

Been Gone From Nuance For Several Months Now
Aug 14, 2013

I have to say the stress level went down almost immediately. I went on to be a CNA and though physically harder work, there is room for growth financially and moving up into another position. Not so with Nuance. Growth potential at this place was zero-more like they try to keep you held down as much as possible. I loved transcription when I started 10 years ago, but this company made me dread even looking at my computer. Good luck to all those who are still here. Prayers for you as you struggle ...

4 Months Notice For PTO
Mar 17, 2014

Can someone please tell me how 4 MONTHS NOTICE is insufficient for PTO?!  It would seem that as a manager your responsibility would be to assess and find coverage as required, and with that much advance notice you shouldn't have a terrible time doing that.  Besides, it's not like my shift is the one that's always hard up for extra help.  C'mon!  Don't act like I've put you in a pickle, you have 4 months to figure out a simple 5-day solution. &nbs ...
