Probity Medical Transcription - livin4christ

Was wondering if anyone works for this company or heard anything about them?

The worst - tinear

They could care less about new hires. Will abandon you during training, throw binder full of acct specs at you, and then give you no learning curve. They think they are a move-in ready company. When I look back, I am glad they fired me without batting an eye after only 4 days cuz they should be prosecuted.

hmmmm....sounds like someone else I know! - anon

no names mentioned, of course.

Five days for me with Probity morbidity. - anon

I lasted one more day than you tinear. I agree with you, they are crummy.

probity - sucks

Same thing with me. They expect to have you learn their system and account specifics in five days. If you forget the words of the, and, a, etc, your out! It's something there are more here that experienced the same thing.

Probity - anon

My experience with Probity has been a positive one for the past year and I really enjoy working there. Pay is on time, lots of work with only a couple of slow times in the past year early in the morning, then picking up mid morning, and they really don't bother me at all and just let me get my work done. There are a lot of account specifics to remember or look up, but I really have not found it that challenging and usually get basically the same group of dictators on most days.

thanks~ - livin4christ

I know just about every company has their "good", as well as, their "bad" points, some worse than others, but I am soooo undecided right now... I cleaned houses for a few people before I started transcribing.. I'm almost to the point of going back to that for awhile and taking a short break.. decisions.. decisions.. ugggh~

to livin4christ, I would go back to cleaning houses or - sm

finding a different line of work. MT is just going downhill. I have been doing this for 12+ years and am looking to get out. My team has over 70 accounts and you can get any one of them at any time and have to read the CP every time you get a different account. You are not paid at all for this time spent reading and are penalized if you have to send too many reports to QA. This is one lousy business to be in so please do yourself a favor and find some other line of work. Believe me, the work at home thing is definitely not worth it with all the crap you have to put up with and how rotten the companies treat and pay the MT.
I agree on the finding sumthin different... - livin4christ

as much as i want to work from home, i can say since i've been laid off (Sept 25), I really really do not miss all the crap you have to put up with.. I've been getting things done around my house (deep cleanin, closets, pulling stuff out, goin thru everything),and I have one of the ladies I used to clean for she never replaced me in the past almost 7 years and if her hubbys job is secure after some meeting comin up, she is gonna be calling me.. and that is cash on the spot.. so for now, even though I miss the "not enuf paychecks", I am just gonna go with the flow and enjoy the time off for a bit.. hoping i can get thru the rest of this year without having to work.. and I am working from home.. lol, just not gettin paid~ ;)

I currently work at Probity but am looking for - looking to get out

another job. Though I have worked there for a couple of years, every day they assign me report after report after report of someone new. And of course ESL. I'd say at least 80% of it is ESL. As these patients are generally coming from another facility, there are doctors names dictated that have to be searched, hospitals they have been transferred from that have to be searched, nursing homes that have to be searched, etc. On each report. I have found there is no money to be made. They generally are asking for people to work extra. And they seem to always have an ad on another site.

Pay is on time, the people seem pleasant although my only contact with them is thru IM when they want something done.

I guess you could do worse.

Probity Transcription - Had Bad Situation 2-1/2 Years Ago With Them
Mar 31, 2011

See they have new ad.  Had bad situation 2-1/2 years ago with them.  Accepted a job as a CMT with $50 CMT sign-on bonus and no training pay.  Told very few foreign accents on my job.  After training, got straight foreign accents for 2 days and boss said nothing was wrong.  Having been a QA editor for 5-1/2 years, I knew someone had picked out all the good plain-old American-type voices because the foreign accent guys don't all dictate at the same time with nothing in-between.  Their ...

Medical Transcription At Home To Become A Medical Scribe?
Jan 20, 2015

Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe?  I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before.  The scribe position starting pay is almost double what I make as an MT per hour so it is very tempting, I just don't know much about it. ...

U.S. Transcription Non Medical
Sep 01, 2011

I answered an ad for U.S. Transcription posted on MT Jobs, was asked to test, and within an hour of submitting my test I was offered a job.  After my heart came down from a happy dance at an actual job offer, I found I really have some things to think about before I say yes. This would be for 2nd shift, non-medical transcription at 0.06/cpl for straight transcription, 0.03/cpl if a company provided template is used.  I suppose I need to ask what my expected production would be before ...

I'm fairly new to medical transcription. I received my certification in 2010 and was a little discouraged when applying for jobs and they were all looking for experienced agents to work from home. Anyone ever do non-medical transcription? I'm interested to know if you liked it. I tried it for a few days and just decided it wasn't for me. Non-medical Transcription?
Dec 08, 2012

I'm a 2011 MT grad who posted not long ago looking for advice.  While googling MT companies to apply to, I found some non-medical transcription services, namely one that transcribes dialogue from a video for production/entertainment companies.  This site had instructions and a download to take the test.  What the heck, I'm going to take it and see what happens.  Since MT is practically a dead-end career, I've been trying to come up with ther ways to utilize my ...

Thank You Medical Transcription
Aug 23, 2013

I quit a job a dozen years ago to jump into the "Work At Home" dream.  I had little money, was quite naive, worked from dark to dark with absolutely no help from the small MTSO, who later ripped me off $5,000.  BUT, I learned. After my first experience with "running out of work", I just found more work.  I got unusually lucky and found a job and was MTing again in a few days. That gig gave me nearly 10 years of working for another small MTSO.  I got busy and made tons of mon ...
