Landmark or Archivus?  (I already know what the archives say.   Am seeking information on what is going on with these companies currently.)  Which would you choose, and why?  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.Laughing

Choose Archivus if you want overbearing supervisors who beat you up over production and yet won't return a call when you need them. They have no clue as to how to run a company well...

Does Archivus have enough work? (This search originally started because I was going to go to Oracle, but they keep running out of work. I want to stay with the Bayscribe platform, so I am trying to choose between Archivus and Landmark.)

I was hired for that new account for which they obviously painfully overhired. I think I'm more disappointed at this than I usually am, simply because I really do very much like the account and I like the people at Oracle. Even at its busiest when the account first started, I loved the way we were left alone to do the work, the 3-4 times per day update on the status of the account, and the lack of "hounding."

I too am moving along in search of greener pastures, unfortunately. Although they have given me backup accounts,those are pretty much bare bones, too.

How unfortunate they overhire to such degree that apparently no MT with bills to pay can stay with them for any length of time.

As for LM, be careful...I've worked there too and many of their accounts are strictly overflow. You'll be told to sign out of the system when there is just enough work for the client's MTs, and the audio on some accounts is beyond atrocious. I loved 1 of my accounts but the audio was so bad I had to pop Vicodin like M&Ms for the pounding migraine I would have after working on it (yes, I complained but my complaints fell on deaf ears - bad pun intended). The other account, my "primary" rarely had any but the WORST of dictators on it (it was an overflow and obviously what was "overflowed" were the dictators the client's own MT's couldn't stand to do).

The people were nice enough but, as many before me have said, "nice" does not pay the bils.

I know nothing about Archivus so I'll leave that to those who do.

me to want to work for either one of them, but given the recent insurance issues with Landmark if those were my only 2 choices I'd pick Archivus, though since they offshore and have let a lot of American MTs go to send the work to India I'd feel like I'd sold my soul to the devil to work for them.

I am fortunate to have insurance from another source, so would not be getting insurance at work. I do have a problem with the idea of offshoring and will have to consider long and hard if I can work for a company that does it. I am looking for a company that uses Bayscribe but does not offshore--and most of all--that has enough work! That is getting to be a problem with too many companies. Maybe I am asking for too much in this day and age.

business has always been feast or famine, but in the famine days it used to mean I didn't have to work OT, but there always enough work to get required lines.

The issue with Landmark would not be you don't need to the insurance, it was the moral/ethical issue behind what they did.

What did they do, exactly? I mean, I read on here that there was some kind of problem with their insurance but was never sure how it all happened. Did it get resolved for the MTs who wanted it?

You won't have work at LM either. I was hired for a huge acct and got about 10 minutes notice after a week that effective immed they had lost the acct and there were no other positions. Shortly after, they started posting again looking for MTs. The QA lady is very nitpicky and has no sense of humor. That was my experience.

Thanks for the info. I am really concerned with having enough work as I have a 12-year-old to support. I will probably go with Archivus, as I hear they have plenty of work. I really want to stay with the Bayscribe platform. I hate DQS! Thanks again.

I left Archivus due to always running out of work. You should try Execuscribe as they are also on Bayscribe.

Thanks for validating my feelings regarding that QA person. I not only share your feelings but I also felt she only acknowledged my IMs/emails when she felt like it.

There used to be 1 or more posters on here who literally raved about how wonderful and professional that woman is and how helpful, while I sat here scratching my head wondering if we were working for the same Landmark, because my experience with her did NOT make me want to rave about how exceptional she was, LOL!

LM does overflow work which means most of it is not the cream of the crop and, if you are an exceptional MT, you will get mainly the bad dictators of the bunch, even though it was suppose to be first in, first out. The lines never added up to time invested and, if there is a hiring spree, you will be told that there is no work while new hires get the work. QA I can't even describe. Not a fan. In all my years of MTing, I made almost poverty wages working for this company.

I know I want an RHIA eventually. But I don't know if I want to go straight for an RHIA or get a RHIT then an RHIA. With the RHIT, I'd be able to look for work in two years (or maybe less that that since I have some college credits). Had to decide today between Nuance and Accentus.  After reading through recent and older archived posts on this thread, I took a leap of faith, followed my intuition, and went with Accentus. Now I am sitting here crossing my fingers that following my intuition was the way to go.  Something about the recent posts about the ambiguity of the incentive plan coupled with that 99% QA score really skeeved me out.  It's ironic, because every place where I've worked, QA was 98 ...

I am an IC and have a prospective cliient who might have more work than I can handle on my own. I was really just looking for part-time job and this opportunity basically fell in my lap!   I am not sure whether to just take the job and hire other ICs to help with my overflow or just tell them I am only looking for part-time work and risk losing eveyrthing. I have worked for this man even before my Webmedx days. To me, he always seemed to have taken pride in his position as he talked about why he felt Webmedx was so successful due to low employee turn around and an open door policy in communication with same. I've been working with this company for over 90 days. The first 90 days was a paid internship. Paid hourly, minimum wage. I am now a full time employee...paid on production.   However, I can not even seem to make minimum wage while on production pay! It is driving me nuts and is very discouraging.
