My company never audits my work in 5+ years - Unusual? (sm)

Posted: May 27, 2010

I have been at my company for over 5 years. I was released from QC within 1-2 days but I have never received any audits or even any emails regarding my work. I have 2 other friends at this company and they have never been audited either since being released from QC. One of them is prone to mistakes and was fired from another company because of quality but she continues to make errors at our current company. I have seen her errors because we can search archived reports. Isn't it unusual for a company to never do audits?

uhg.. I wish I worked there - the Q is audit CRAZY

geez.

I second that!!! - sm

You'd think with the constant flow of newbies hired at MQ, it would keep QA too busy for the monthly (or more frequent) audits. I think I've had 7 audits now in the last 2 months. Luckily I've passed them all, but it's ridiculous how audit happy they've become. I know a lot of folks who simply refuse to send anything to QA in fear of sparking an audit or being docked pay doing it.

For the millionth time... - anon

QA does not do audits. MMEs do QA to fill in blanks or 100% QA on newbies. However, there are no scores on this, period. Each region has one QC person that does audits.

QA submission jobs and audit jobs are two totally separate things and NOT done by the same people.

Where I work never does either, though some accounts - sm -

do have QA direct from the hospital though. Those MTs do get feedback but we have no one keeping score. Depends on the account you are on but most are direct submit with no QA. You are not allowed to send your work through though at first of course and are QA'd but once released (a matter of days if you are any good) that is it unless the client complains. I think we should be checked though as I see some really dumb mistakes go through sometimes when I need to refer to a previous report.

Never even heard of auditing transcription! - Transcribing for 15 years. (nm)

This is the first time I have ever even heard of the practice.

That is very hard to believe. Most companies, - j

unlike the ones above, do audit, you just may never hear back if there are no problems. Both places I work audit, in fact everywhere I have worked (30+ years) have had audits.

Same here, whether MTSO or in-house - SM

I have noticed that many places do not bother to even go over your audits with you if you did fine. Conversely, I have worked at a couple of hospitals where even if you had a 100%, they would still sit down with you just to take the opportunity to "touch bases" and just have a general little 1:1 time.

I figure if there's a problem with my audits, I'll soon hear about it. Otherwise, I figure silence is golden :-)

After Years And Years Of Being IC, Obtained Employee Status At A Co. Sm
Nov 26, 2012

Thought that after not having enough work for a couple years now and always chasing work, I'd now have a "real job" as an employee and wouldn't have to worry about a steady paycheck and paying the bills anymore. The reason I thought this was because at the interview and in their professional company emails, they use all the "real job" words:  Shift, scheduled hours, overtime, PTO, benefits, etc.  I felt relieved to finally have a "job." What a big bunch of BS! I was "hired" ...

3 Years. Question: How Many More Years Do You Plan To Be An MT/editor?
Dec 20, 2013

There is much speculation about the field of transcription - how many of us actually plan to be here 5 years, 10 years, 20 years from now. I realize that the field is going to change, which will contribute to your answer. Will there be enough transcriptionists/editors to fill the need in 5 years and in 10 years? Will the industry be forced out of offshoring because of taxes? Will there be a need even for editors if VR gets better? These are all unanswered questions, but my question is, what ...

I Worked For M*Modal A Couple Of Years Ago Or So And I Worked For Medquist Several Years Ago.
Aug 08, 2014

Lately, I've been getting legal notices mailed to my home from I believe the east coast somewhere informing me of a class action lawsuit against M*Modal and inviting me to joint if I have a claim.  I don't think I have a claim, but then again with all the shady practices in this business, I'm not so sure.  I'm just curious what the heck is going on. Anyone care to give me the lowdown? ...

Audits/qa
Dec 03, 2009

Can somebody tell me what this audit/QA procedure is now?  I'm so confused with when they are done, how many reports are done, etc., etc.  I had been told earlier that 5 reports would be randomly pulled monthly and checked.  You would be notified you had been audited and the results.  If you passed, another 5 would be done the next month and so on.  If you didn't pass the audit, then a redo audit within 7-14 days would be done on another 5 random reports.  ...

Audits - Huh?
Feb 04, 2015

I don't understand how auditing works.  Two of my reports were reviewed, and in each case, a word I had puit in had a line through it, but then it was replaced with the same exact word!  For that, I got marked off, getting only 99.50% or 99.75%.  I wish there was a way we could give direct feedback to the auditors at the time we're viewing our reports. ...

I Keep Going From 100% Audits To 98.7 Or 98.8
Feb 04, 2015

every week I will either get a "Congratulations, GREAT job- You are an excellent MT - I'm so glad to have you on my team! or a "Your quality is unacceptable at 98.7 (or whatever--it's always at least 98%)...you will need to take the Care Boost Quality class.  Jeesh.  What it is?  Am I a great MT or am I a failure of an MT who needs quality classes?  Make up your mind!!  Either leave me alone to do my job (yes do alert me of my mistakes, but if it's a simpl ...

QA Audits
Mar 18, 2015

:(   I have tried to give the QA program the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was being done fairly, rewarding us for near perfect QA scores.  I have managed to keep my QA score above 99% every week until last week.  Before last week, I normally have 8 to 11 reports pulled for audit, some short, some long.  Last week I had 1 critical, 1 major, and 2 minor mistakes which dropped me down to no bonus pay.  Not faulting anyone for that, totally my mistakes, legitimate errors.  But....once th ...

Anyone Been On PM Lately Over Audits?
Apr 03, 2015

I have only had 3 audits in 2-1/2 years. Even though I received notice of scores of 99.6 or 99.7, I did not receive any account of what my mistakes were to produce those scores. A comma? A hyphen? Not sure. They should let us know in case we keep doing it, and that could cause us to fail an audit in the future. Just think, a comma, a hyphen, Patient instead of The patient, his elbow instead of the elbow, etc. could actually cost you your job, your income, and your whole way of life. Sca ...

QC Audits I Never Knew About
Oct 14, 2009

Okay, I may be the last one to know this, but I thought the only QC audits I was getting were the ones showing up on the DQM QA Feedback screen where it says (1 unread) or (how many ever unread). When you click on them, if the report has been audited by your QC, it will have a percentage score.  But that's just for the reports you sent in with a blank. To see the ones randomly selected and audited, you have to use the QA Feedback Search feature and put in a date range. For example, I j ...

This Silly Audits
Apr 15, 2010

This is silly Not only do we need to follow CP guidelines but BOS and then DocQscribe standards. So even if you have the first 2, the third will get you audit.    Why can't they spend the money and create one set of rules to follow and be done with it.  We work on production now.  checking on previous dictated reports and then double checking guidelines from all three areas ??  and when you send in a blank now I am also being questioned about the audio etc.&nb ...

OMG, QA Audits Gone Horribly Bad
May 28, 2010

I got CRITICAL errors on audit for things like:  I typed "I used a translator telephone..." (that is what I heard) and the person auditing changed "a translator telephone" to "the translator telephone" (I suppose she heard "the" instead of "a"). In the physical exam portion of one report, the dictator used "was" throughout except for one time he said "is" and so I changed it to "was" to make it consistent and got a critical error for that. Please tell me how these are critica ...

Feedback, Audits, Etc
May 28, 2010

With all the recent ridiculous corrections everyone's been getting, it might be a good idea to keep a record of the name of MME/QA who reviewed the reports.  If an MME/QA is consistently abusing you/us, at least you will know who to complain about to your CCM about.  ...

How Are The QA Audits Going At TT? Who's Left?
Oct 22, 2010

Since September, they've been looking for a total of 76 MTs. Are the audits over for another month or so and how many are gone over those audits?  Any long term TTers left? I haven't seen anything posted on this board since the beginning of October. I remember when someone was sued over a post and was wondering who won that case? Is TT still a good place to work? Thanks, ...

Does Anybody Else Think That MQ Just Does Want Us To Not Pass Audits?
Oct 27, 2010

Does it seem like no matter what you do it is not good enough? Here lately it seems like they only audit the worst dictator. The only reports they have audited for me lately have been ESLs lately. Maybe that is their way of trying to get rid of me. Maybe they want to thin the herd and just send it all to India. I just hope to find something soon outside of MT. I have been looking.   ...

TT Audits And Work.
Oct 31, 2010

I'd like to say I have had to learn accounts on my own and have had to cross reference many, many times.  Yes, I have seen blanks where if someone had taken the time to hunt for the word, it would have helped me also, but for the most part with what we have to work with, I have seen words that are highly inaudible by many, many doctors with bad dictation and yet what was typed was a wonder we could make anything out of it.  I have seen no help from the hospitals themselves as ...

Quality Audits-sm
May 02, 2011

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen lately.  I received a quality audit on 4/25 on my audit, which I passed at 98.3% (had one icky one in there).  Then on 4/29 got another email of an audit of 5 reports, did not give a total score, but they were all pretty darn good (3 at 100%, 1 at 98, 1 at 98.75).  Then on 4/30, another email, they checked 3 more reports (all those above 98% too).  But what is going on, are they searching for something bad?  Are they doin ...

To The Poster Below Regarding Audits
Jan 09, 2012

I am NOT going to read all those posts, but I just wanted to let you know that you are lucky you only get audited once a month.  I get audited DAILY, at least once a day.  Today I got audited twice, one 100% the other 99.75%.  If I can remember correctly, I got dinged for typing something like "Aorta was tortuous" instead of "The aorta was tortuous".  It was for an account that has a multitude of dictators - I swear there is a new one every day and no two on a consistent basi ...

Beyond Discouraged RE QA Audits
Apr 29, 2012

I don't usually post here - guess I've reached my discouragement limit for the night! I work on a very difficult account as I'm sure many of you do as well, and I spend a great deal of time listening and re-listening to these difficult dictators to make sure I am hearing correctly.  I just checked my audits again and see that I have received another 1 point deduction on a post audit for something they heard differently that I apparently did.  It frustrates me no end that ...

Who Performs The Audits? Is It The QC?
Jun 11, 2013

Audits And The Thread Below
Dec 04, 2013

I want to repeat this for those who may have missed it and I am not looking for pity.   Was moved to a new account after 4 years on 2 very difficult accounts with only 1 or 2 failed audits (and was always given a second chance).  After 24 hours on the new account and telling them there was one particulary dictator I could not hear because he kept moving away from the phone, they audited me, included reports from that dictator, and immediately put me on 100% QA at which point I finally ...
