"Hiring Freelance writers for a long-term project" (sm) - Rose

Posted: Mar 22, 2014

Is this a joke or have the MTSOs given us a reputation for low-income-workers?!?!?!? This job is to research products and write a 40 page review for .10 cents per review?!?!?! You can write up to 50 reviews a day. Wow! 5 bucks a day!

You have it incorrect - it is 40 WORD answers, up to 50 per hour - SSE

I agree with you that this is still not a great paying opportunity, but please pay attention to the ad! It could be something that benefits people in their spare time, waiting for work. The ad states that an experienced writer can do about 50 ads per HOUR, not per day, and not that they are 40 pages. That is a little ridiculous.

But it still adds up to 5 dollars an hour. NM - Jackie

I contacted them, and . . . - MsMT

they sent me a few to do. It's pretty simple, but then I thought, "What am I DOING??!!" There is no question that $5.00 an hour is ridiculous, and that's for working very quickly to get in 50 answers within that hour! MT rates are already extremely low (and insulting) for what we do, and I refuse to prostitute myself even more.

I believe the ad stated 40 WORDS per review..not PAGES.. However, when I "did the math" I also broke out laughing!! No matter how I computed it, that still only worked out to $5 an hour. BIG WOOP-DE-DOO!!!

Sorry, I typo'd the 40 pages that should have been "reviews". (nm) - Rose

Has Anyone Been On Long Term Disability
Feb 06, 2010

For the past week I've been on PTO because of terrible vertigo/nausea, apparently caused by labyrinthitis.   My vision is so blurry from the meds I'm on that I have to have my daughter type this for me.  Without the 3 different meds I'm on I am in hell, with them I am barely functional bc of the side effects of the meds (which are still better than the horror show carnival ride of vertigo.   My PTO will run out on Sunday and I know this is going to take a ...

Very Long Hiring Process.
Apr 03, 2012

I was just hired by Nuance and have received hiring paper work.  Looks like I will not even start working until maybe end of April.  It seems that everything here takes forever.  But at least we have a job here, for whatever it is worth.  So what if you are really depending on this income to pay your bills?  Then what???  I guess these big companies are not too worried about that huh??? ...

Long Term Health Risks Of Medical Transcription?
Jul 10, 2012

I am a Canadian medical transcriptionist. I have been doing this job for seven years now and I really enjoy it. The thing is though is that I used to be in the military for 21 years and went to the gym every day. I had a much more active job. So I do find that after seven years of sitting down for 8 hours per day that I have put on about 20 lbs. I started going back to the gym after work as we have one at this hospital. It only opened a couple of years ago. What do others think about this? Do yo ...

Reliance Standard Short- And/or Long-term Disability Claims.
Jan 02, 2013

Has anyone had the misfortune to file a disability claim through your employer with this company?  On 11/19/12 HR at my employer sent them my paperwork and said it would take 7 days for a decision.  No decision yet and HR has not followed up, so I'm hung out to dry.  I have had to call Reliance constantly wanting to know what's going on and it's one excuse after another, making them and my employer look totally incompetent.  If you're paying for short- or ...

Research For A School Project - Current Billers Help Please!
Jan 21, 2014

I am current in school as a medical insurance specialist and we have a group project that we are struggling in.  We have to research what a medical biller/coder does in an office of approximately 3-4 physicians, if they even do their own billing.  These days, many smaller doctor's offices just send out their billing so it is kind of hard to find.  If you do billing/coding in an office, could you help?  What are your general duties?  Do you also do front desk work or ...
