Anyone get the job with Oracle - OTI?? - Curious

Posted: Nov 13, 2012

Sounds like a pretty reasonable place to work. Hardly ever read any posts here about them so I assume, no news is good news and their employees must be fairly content. Just curious, as they seldom hire. I applied, but I am acute care/hospital transcription and they were looking for people to fill multispecialty clinic account, so folks who have an extensive background in clinic work. Just curious if anyone has started and how they like it. Also curious if there are any who have been with the company for a while and how they like it, whats management and QA like?

I applied, have not heard from them - Still hoping

I do have an extensive multispecialty clinic background and I agree, it does sound like a good place. I still am hoping to hear from them, need to make a change from where I am now. I'd also be interested to know if anyone else was contacted after applying.

Still hoping - I sent you an email. - Good luck.

I applied, 20+ years in multi-specialty clinic, have not heard anything... - MT

(Meant to reply to OP)

Glad you asked this. I was wondering too since there were 1000+ views of their ad. I've waited a week, haven't heard, so ended up accepting another position.

I applied with them a couple of years ago and they did respond with an interview request, but it was 2-3 weeks after my application and I had already gone with another company. Would be curious to hear if anyone was interviewed or contacted since the ad posted last week.

They rudely ignore their own ICs so - do not hold your breath nm

That has not been my experience at all. Anytime I have written them I get a prompt response. sm - Colorado MT

Everyone I have dealt with has been friendly and helpful, and I am very happy working for OTI. I'm sorry that your experience was not the same.

YMMV but several have complained of same like being locked out of accounts sm - do not hold your breath

...without warning - much less explanation - whereas others seem to be on OTI's quick communication list. I was locked out of an account without warning or explanation simply because they figured they had too many MTs on the account. The only reason I got a response was because I couldn't log into that account and verify my lines (OTI has BayScribe set up so line tallies are kept in individual accounts and you have to log in each then add up for a pay period total if you work on more than one - at least that's how it was when I was there; different with other BayScribe companies). So a week later after being locked out, I emailed payroll that I had no way to verify my pay on the second account due to being locked out of it, and cc'd the team leader. Only then did the team leader get back to me explaining that she locked me out because I was needed more on my primary, but that she was letting me back into the secondary - however, I was only to go to the secondary if my primary was depleted.

There are definitely more professional ways to tell an MT she is needed more on another account. That sums up my experience with OTI's owners and managers - unprofessional.
agree somewhat - few rotten apples

I have found the sisters to be very quick at responding to whatever I send them. The MT supervisor is quite rude, unfriendly and plain snotty and sometimes it is hard to get a response from QA on questions. Overall though, minus those 2 rotten apples everyone else is great there. They let you work and don't bug you to death, QA is pretty consistent and the platform couldn't be any easier. Overall, I am really happy with Oracle.
I'm not criticizing you, I am just surprised that you would not keep a running sm - Another OTIer

talley of your lines each day. I write my line count totals each day for each account in my daily planner and keep a running total so I know where I stand, plus it makes sending in my invoice quite easy.

As for the shutting out on the account without notice, that does seem harsh. I am sorry you had that happen. I have only had positive interactions with the 2 owners and the rest of the office staff. They have always been professional in their interactions with me, and when I have had personal issues they were extremely kind and understanding. I hope you have found something that works better for you. I would be upset with something like that as well.

I applied and not a peep from them, even a second letter - justme

if they'd received my information since it had been over a week. From what I hear, they are feast or famine, so OK when you're working there, but tend to over-hire. Good luck.

They put an add on the JS Board saying all positions filled - About a week ago

They thanked everyone and said the positions had been filled. I think they posted that on 11/7, LOL.

Thank you for posting this, I missed that (nm) - MT

Anyone Know What's Up With Oracle/OTI?
Jan 31, 2010

I haven't had much work for months.  Since last summer actually.  Can never make minimum.  I have another part-time job so I'll survive, and I do like that company on a whole, but there has been NO WORK.  They keep promising new accounts that never happen.  Is it just me?  Are there some Oracle workers that are happy and have enough work? I know sometimes it is famine time as an MT, but this is ridiculous. I wonder if they lost some big accounts or somethi ...

If You Are New Or Old For Oracle OTI, Please Answer.
Oct 16, 2010

No one answers my emails when I ask why my accounts have no work. It's been going on for a very long time, but so much worse now.  I thought a new account was going ot start, but I haven't heard a word about it.  Is something going on that I don't know about?  I realize they were going to be switching to more SR and MTs weren't all that happy about it (my own pay will be 1.5 CPL lower and only 4CPL for SR work), but what happened?I absolutely hate coming to a r ...

Oracle/OTI Transcription
Dec 10, 2010

I've just started working with Oracle, and seem to like it okay so far. However, I am reading all these posts here about pay decreases, no work, and no communication. Is this all sudden and not typical of them? I'm a little worried now. I know lots of companies get bashed on this board and some for silly reasons, but I was wondering if there was any truth behind the posts here, or if it's just a few "unhappy" MTs. Anything you can share would be great! Thanks so much! ...

Oracle Update
Mar 21, 2011

I haven't seen any recent posts about a lack of work at Oracle.  Have things settled down to where everyone has sufficient work?  I'm working for them PT and have only had 1-2 occasions where I've run out of work; however, my FTE is running out of work on an increasingly frequent basis and, if there's sufficient work at Oracle, I'd be interested in switching over to them as a FT position. Oracle/OTI Question
Apr 27, 2011

I know that Oracle/OTI's ASR is done on Bayscribe.  I have worked on Bayscribe before and like the platform (for straight typing anyway as that's all I've done on Bayscribe).   But my question, is Oracle's ASR as good as I've been told?  The pay that they're offering sounds pretty low, especially for an IC, but I was told that could be made up for by the increased number of lines produced.  Anyone here with experience with them?  Is i ...

Just Applied At Oracle
Jun 07, 2012

I just applied at Oracle.  I don't understand what they pay per line.  It says they have eScription as one of their platforms.  They want 3500 LPH part-time, 5000 LPH full-time.  Are they still in business or really hiring.  I was able to get onto their site but I seem to find things about them that are old - like comments.  Also, are they a big company?    Thank you.  ...
