Alpha Transcription/Imedx - Confused

Anyone happy with Alpha Transcription/Imedx currently? I thought about working with them but read on another MT site there's a lot of changes going on without any notice.

I worked for Alpha for 2 weeks. I worked on VA. I had not list to type in correctly Veterans name, got dinged a lot because I did not type it in right. They put me on Radiology and foreign doc. Told them I had never typed those before. Did not matter. They put me on it anyway. They basically give MT 2 weeks to get specs right,pt names right, format right, etc. Got Email from TL on Friday they were taking me off QA and to be careful the following week. Come Monday morning, I got an Email from Head Lady and was terminated due to not getting everything correct in those 2 weeks. I have never been let go before like that and I have 36 years exp. I barely made any money. I also worked for Imedx. Loved the account I was on and work dwindled down to zero, loved the software program and without notice that account I was on was sent to India without any warning. Good luck if you apply at either one. Alpha is a subsidiary of Imedx.

If this is a foreign company, how does it have VA accounts?

What is taking place w/Alpha and Imedx? Is it for the better. Don't know much about Imedx are they a good company? Please give me your pros and cons. I have only heard good about Alpha prior.

My account at IMEdx went to India, along with several others. No notice. Logged on one day, no work. Found out it was sent offshore.

I worked for Alpha for a short time, hated the work flow, never had any pt information, then I found out they were foreign based, and it became mutual that I quit/terminated. If I would have known that they were not American run I never would have worked for them, to much of our work is being sent overseas, just not right.

Definitely not right, since they have numerous VA contracts. Our government has it a new low, funneling work from American VA Hospitals to foreign companies.

Alpha transcription has not nor will they send VA jobs oversees.

Does alpha have IC or employee status? Is the standard, above, below?

The VA contracts with any transcription service specifically requires US citizens for their accounts. Alpha cannot offshore the VA work by law. All ICs must go through VA approval and HIPPA training before they can even start typing them.

An acquaintance of mine got this message from Alpha (now owned by ImedX). There has been a lack of work since ImedX took over countless VA hospitals that used to be handled by Alpha. In short, U.S. Government is now paying a foreign company, using taxpayer money, while causing unemployment for Americans, and the so called Americans working for Alpha/ImedX are assisting them. Just got a letter from the IRS saying they concluded that I performed services (2013) for the firm (Alpha) as an employee! So looks like Alpha and their COO and CRO "team" weren't playing by the rules, although their webpage currently boasts Ms. CRO "ensured compliance with Federal law and managing the payroll benefits for IMedX" in her bio. I see their new webpage no longer has IMedX attached to it--what's up with that anyone know? ...
