s/l "horsey" tympanic membranes? - Cathy

Posted: Dec 12, 2009

Need help with an ESL med student.  She is from Rwanda. She states, "The ear canals are clear with "horsey" tympanic membranes." She says this frequently and I cannot figure out what she is really saying. QA hasn't filled in this blank on other reports either. TIA!

Just a couple things, don't know if it fits - SallySue

Normal TMs are described as pearly gray and translucent. Could it be translucent, or something similar?

Thanks for the try! I think she is totally mispronouncing something. - Cathy

Doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before associated with TMs. It just sounds like "horsey" to me. Had to leave it blank again.

horsey - MTTM

Late in response, but could it be or have been ROSEY? (pink, like the patient has OM?)
