possessive apostrophes - rackle

I have a practicum student who is fighting me on this ->"diabetes management"...she is sure that you put an apostrophe on diabetes' (<-like this)...what is your opinion

No apostrophe - sm

It is management of diabetes, not a possesive. The management doesn't belong to the diabetes.

I always think the docs must go nuts when they dictate Alzheimer's or Crohn's or Behcet's and see Alzheimer or Crohn or Behcet.  Sometimes I think all of ADHI's rules and regs are just arbitrary.... Are we back to apostrophes now, according to those powers that be?  And who, by the way, ever gave them those powers, anyway?? ...

I've asked this question before so I do apologize the repeat, but how would you explain that you would NOT use an apostrophe for "diabetes management" to indicate possessive quality. I know why you would not, but how would you condense the explanation. TIA ...

It is 6 weeks' gestation ... but is it also 6 weeks' pregnant?  - For some reason I have trouble with this.  Neither seem possessive to me but the 2nd even less so. Thanks for any clarification.  : ) ...
