"Xeroform, 4 x 4, gauze" or "4 x 4 gauze" - mtgirl

Is it 4 x 4 gauze or is this separate as 4 x4, gauze, Ace, Kling, etc. This has always confused me.
Its all one thing - what did we do without Google...

[ In Reply To ..]Xeroform is very sticky and gooey (petrolatum infused) and usually needs dry gauze pads over it before placing Webril, tape, etc. But I just had this dictation: "The pins were subsequently dressed with Xeroform gauze and Kling." So Kling, which is dry, may be placed directly over the Xeroform for a less bulky dressing, as in this case, and it was very obvious by his emphasis that no comma was needed before gauze.
