Infant with respiratory distress syndrome "QSR" - Wondering

Posted: Jul 04, 2013

Baby has respiratory distress syndrome and was given what sounds like "QSR" or "que-ess-arr." Don't know if this is an acronym or a drug or what. Any help very much appreciated.

Could be Qvar....? - s/m

I'm not at all sure about how young of a Peds patient they would give Qvar, but it's a respiratory/asthma med....that might be what you're hearing.

Curosurf - Wondering

It's a surfactant used to treat neonatal respiratory problems. I'd never heard of it before tonight, so I'm hoping it's a new product.

Interesting! thanks for posting. - s/m

As I always say, as an MT, I learn something new every day! I've never heard of this, either, but it definitely sounds like what you were looking for. Thanks for posting what you found!
