***has chronic kidney disease stage IV with an estimated GFR of 19 mL/min per 1.3 m2. I am mostly concerned about the 1.3 meters squared. Is this correct?

[ In Reply To ..]Your m2 is fine, but I would check on BOS (though client profile rules) regarding that mL/min in terms of using a slash between the mL and min. The slash does indeed mean "per" but it doesn't get used with entitities other than measures. Check BOS for these types of style issues.

I also do pain management and vascular surgery, and the doctors in these practices routinely dictate values at cm/sec and M/sec. An internal medicine doctor gives mg/mL or mg/cc.
The slash is acceptable for entities other than measures, regardless of what BOS says.
Where I work, we type 1.3 meters squared as - "1.3 sq m" - nm

When I got the feedback, every single time I typed "diabetes type 2" as was dictated, it was corrected to "non-insulin-dependent diabetes type 2."
