Ridiculous Reduction In Pay Jul 28, 2010As with most of you, my pay from Medquist has taken a total nose dive ever since ASR went to 85% while at the same time cutting our transcription rate down for ASR from 70% to 60%. That's a 40% pay cut!!! I've had to take another job elsewhere to try to make ends meet. Besides that, our health benefits are the absolute worst and get worse every year. Can anyone ever remember any kind of cost of living raise? I used to make $36,000 annu ...
QA Line Rate Reduction Apr 26, 2010Why is it that we receive a reduced line rate when the blanks cannot be filled in by QA either? I've checked my feedback and most of the QA markers I left were also left blank by the QA person. So those reports should not count against us. How am I supposed to know what QA can hear or what they know? ...
WMX Reduction In Force Employees Oct 05, 2010Hoping everyone has found new and happy homes. Frightening to think we can so easily lose our job (through no fault of our own). I understand it was not just new people hired for that specific account but some of you had been there a while and were put on it and got zapped. I thought of asking for transfer to it simply because it was a large account. Wow, I dodged that bullet. Sorry you were not as lucky.
Best of luck to you (and the rest of us). ...
Need To Know - Line Rate Reduction Jun 21, 2013I have worked for the same company since 2010. I received a phone call today that my primary account has demanded a "flat-rate price reduction" so my pay will also be reduced for my standard transcription line rate to "accomodate the client" and not lose the account. I do work on a speech rec platform and most of the reports are edited, but I have never had anything like this happen before. I like my company and the accounts I work on and there is usually plenty of work, but I ...

Pay Reduction For Some Platforms Question Jan 15, 2015Seem to remember at one point they were reducing percentage paid on some platforms, there was a lot of hubaloo and then (if I am not mistaken) they went back on this and allowed them to be paid for full lines typed.
Is my memory correct?
Going by this I wonder if there is a ray of sunshine at the end of this long, long tunnel. Perhaps they will make further adaptations to this plan as they figure out it isn't workign well. This HEENT/HENT crap is totally unreal and that ...

IMEDX, Question About Reduction In Bonus Feb 13, 2015The e-mail I got said it has been reduced to 2 cents above your line rate. Bonus before was set at line rate and 1/2, which I thought they did because it would be the equivalent to "time and a half," which is, I believe, the law when you are working beyond 40 hours in a week. If you are working bonus, which is usually the case, above your 40 hours, is it legal for them not to pay the equivalent of time and a half? ...

Am I Gonna Have A Big Reduction In Pay When My 45 Days Training Is Up? Read On Jul 13, 2010I just can't get going fast on these terrible accounts. I was doing 200 lph ST at my old job and nearly 400 lph VR (on EditScript) and I don't think I will EVER get this fast at MedQuist. I am really worried that in 2 weeks I will drop down low enough that I either won't get benefits or they will fire me or I will be making minimum wage.
Worried...

What Is The Point Of Asking You What Feb 04, 2010specialty you really don't like if that is all they are going to give you?
Now, before anyone flames away, I was hired by the Q several months ago as a tier 3. I pull my weight, work my shift, and don't have too much to complain about except for NJA from time to time.
When I was hired, they asked me specifically what specialties I like the most and what I like the least. I was told that if there was a specialty that I really disliked or didn't have as much experience ...
What's The Point Feb 21, 2010of us looking at DocQManage to see what the backlog is? Several times I have looked and still I don't get the work. One day last week, almost 200 jobs on my primary account (not sure if it still is) and then an hour later, nothing!
Of asking us to switch our hours? I don't see how that is going to help if there is no work at many different times during the day.

I Don't Really See What The Point Of The Jan 09, 2015Fluency "upgrade" is. They spent how much money paying the techs to work on it & then paying all of us to train so that the spellcheck can now be inconveniently located on the left rather than floating and it now takes twice as long to upload a report because we basically have to go through 2 upload cycles...? Yet we still don't have the fuzzy physician search fixed or the question marks by the physician names in the ADT, or control-arrow moving to the end of the word instea ...

Well I Have Proven My Point May 15, 2011I worked 4.5 hours yesterday and did over 1400 lines! Typed 95 reports. If I apply myself I can make good money. I just need to stop doing other things when I should be working....I should be doing between 1500 and 2000 lines a day the way I look at it. Far above the 1200 a day minimum. Hmmm, well guess I better get to work (LOL)....Lord help me! ...
Where The Finger Should Point Jul 20, 2011So much ire and angst pointed at MTSOs. I even read where the TAT is a marketing ploy :) It helps to remember that we're all in the same boat and for the same reasons, to support ourselves.
What so many of you don't seem to get is that the INSURANCE industry is dictating much of the TAT. If reports aren't on a chart in xxx time then the facility/physician is dinged financially.
If an MTSO doesn't meet TAT, they are dinged financially. So they a ...
