Context: "...she was diagnosed as having COPD/asthma, as well as sleep apnea. The patient had been on SANS and CPAP but had not been compliant with these interventions."

[ In Reply To ..]I've done tons of long-term/acute care, and they were all pulmonology patients at some level. I've never heard of "SAN" before, but I'm assuming that it might stand for "scheduled albuterol nebulizer." Therefore, it would be SAN or SANs. Give me a few minutes, and I'll check my Stedmans, but in the meantime, you can check the rest of the report to see if scheduled albuterol is on their med list. : )

This is regarding a pt who was hospitalized for a presumed stroke that did not show on either MRI or CT. Dictator is discussing this: As it turns out, the symptoms resolved within 48 hours and neither the CT scan nor the MRI scan showed that she had actually had a stroke so this was a prolonged "TRA" or a reversible ischemic neurologic deficit or RIND. The R is very clear so I really do not think it is TIA (if only it were so easy on a Saturday night!) ...
