Forum Question - see question pls

Posted: Feb 17, 2015

For some reason, after I read a post, the subject isn't changing colors, so that I know what posts I've read. I use Vista with Google Chrome as my browser. Thanks!

Go to Internet Options, Browsing History and make sure the box "Delete Browsing History on Exit" is unchecked. That worked for me when I had the same problem. Good luck!

Thanks But... - I do not see that in Chrome

I don't see Internet Options in chrome. Does this have to do with cookies?

Sorry, I should have said "Tools" Internet Options. You should have that somewhere on your tool bar. On IE 10 it is under what looks like a gear. I'm not familiar with Chrome. Good luck!
Thank you for responding! - Anyone familiar with Chrome?

Is anyone familiar with Chrome's equivalent to Internet Options, where you can disable delete browsing history on exit? I'm on Chrome, and I want to uncheck the equivalent box of "Delete Browsing History," so I can see which notes I've read on this forum and which ones I haven't.

I've been all over in tools and settings, and see a lot of stuff about deleting all history, stuff about Cookies, etc.

I'm sure there's an IE equivalent in Chrome. I'm just not savvy enough to go checking and unchecking boxes as a trial and error.

So, Can Anybody Help Me - In Chrome?

I need help in Chrome. The poster was extremely helpful in IE help, and I appreciate the time...but I use Chrome as my default browser.

I need to know which notes I have read here to keep track using Chrome. I am not savvy enough on my own to mess around with checking and un-checking Cookie or other options.

So, if anyone can please direct me to how to disable delete browsing history on exit, I do believe this will help me. The original helper used that terminology, and I appreciate that, but it doesn't seem to be Chrome terminology.

I so much appreciate the poster's help! However, I need help in Chrome, and Chrome doesn't quite use the same terminology as IE.

If I do a Google search with the question, it's still not helpful, because Chrome uses different terminology, and I am not savvy enough to decipher.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much! To summarize, I just want to be able to color-view which notes I've read and which notes I have not.

Thanks so much!

Not a Chrome user, but give this a try... - Hope it works. sm

on the bar at the bottom of your screen (task bar?), click the Start button. Hopefully a search box comes up. Type Internet Options, click on it, and the Delete Browsing History box that OldTimer mentioned is halfway down.

Thanks, but - Not there.

Thanks, but no it's not there. I have a geek friend I may be seeing this week, and I'll ask him.

Thanks for responding.

I've been approached by a local physician to take over his transcription.  He dictates from home right now, into his computer.  I think maybe with EMDAT?  My guess would be that the voice files are created and held somewhere, and his current company/transcriptionist goes in and gets them and somehow transcribes and sends them back via the computer.  Anyway, I've been out of the loop for long enough that I'm searching for a low cost, easy way to get his files to ...

I Love This Coding Forum!
Jun 17, 2010

The people on this coding forum are so pleasant and helpful. If someone gets cranky, it only seems to last for a minute and, unlike many other forums, people don't jump in and start battles. Also, people don't seem to get so defensive or take things personally the way they do in other places. There is an enormous amount of helpful information here and we get to see more than one side of everything, without battles. People respect each other's opinions even when they disagree. Thi ...

For Larger Print When Reading Forum
Aug 09, 2014

When reading this forum or when on ANY Internet site, if you are having trouble because the print is too small, hold down your Ctrl key while using the scroll on the mouse. Moving the mouse "wheel" up will enlarge the print; moving the mouse wheel down will make it smaller. This pretty much works on anything except for e-mails. Don't forget to keep the Ctrl key held down while you are doing this. ...
