ExEditor Won't Delete - Can't Work Until I can Delete. - Angie

I have ExEditor (v 7.5) on my PC from a job I had 3 years ago. Nuance installed it but won't uninstall it because I don't have a service contract. I need this OFF my PC so I can install another version from another client and can't work until I can accomplish this. Error Mssg ("CAN'T READ FROM SOURCE FILE OR DISK") when trying following: Using Control Panel Add/Delete Program: Won't delete. Deleting individual files: Won't delete. Renaming files: Won't rename. Moving files: Won't move. Purchased program to delete: Won't delete it! I cannot work until I can get this #(%$* program off my computer. Do I need to reformat the hard drive to get this thing removed? Thanks for any help!

Try using Unlocker - HelpfulMT

You could try using a freeware program called Unlocker. You can download it reliably through CNET. You can read the CNET Editor's Review. The link is below. There is a 32-bit and a 64-bit version. Be sure to install the correct one based on what system you have.

not sure if this would be any different, but I'll hang onto the link. I contacted my tech who thinks it is a Nuance bug in the program, not my PC. After the tech was here for 2 hours updating and cleaning up this old PC with XP (need it to run their old version of ExEditor), I then had the problem deleting it and had to buy an uninstall program. The next program they sell to fix the bug located 424 registry errors. Not sure if the first uninstall program created all those errors or if they really exist. So, I'm reluctant to download any "fixes" now, but I'll remember the one you recommended. At least it has a good reference! Thank you!

Install the unlocker. Then, right click on the ExEditor folder and select Unlocker. Then from the drop down menu select "Unlock All." The menu is below on the left hand side. After that, try deleting the folder. If it still acts up, then right click on the folder, select unlocker, and then select delete from the drop down menu. It will then delete it when you restart the PC.

I wrote a letter to my boss, and now every time I open Word, the letter appears. I never saved it. I tried erasing it and saving it as a blank document, but nothing works. It still keeps popping up. Every so often when I press the delete key, it zooms through the report and deletes every character past where the cursor was located. Once everything is gone, the hour glass keeps flashing, the cursor no longer works, and I have to shut down the program and lose all of the material deleted. I have lost entire reports when going back to the beginning and trying to edit something. Any ideas on how I can stop this from happening? ...

Has anyone else noted a difference in the way ExEditor works on the information screen since recent servers changes or updates? used to be able to verify pt mrn, hit return and it would take you to visit id section; now it goes right to document without giving change to choose correct visit. would appreciate hearing from anyone who's having problem like that; don't think I'm the only one. have contacted the correct department as per instructions but apparently not their issue. ...

Anybody using ExEditor for TT/Imedx having problems with their screen freezing up every minute or so after 6 pm CST? I've been noticing this for a while, and it's really, really getting annoying. My screen will freeze, then the IE icon starts spinning, screen blinks, then everything okay for a little bit more.
