Cable versus DSL?  Do any of you have Verizon DSL?  If so, do you have problems with it ?  I had cable and switched to Verizon and thinking I made a BIG MISTAKE!!

I had cable for a long time, switched to Verizon DSL for a while, then went back to cable. In my area, Verizon's service was okay but the speeds were too slow. I don't think there's much of a price difference any more, either.

I have Verizon DSL and have used it for 4 years with no problems whatsoever. I have great Internet speed and never any down time.

Verizon DSLhere as well. I have SM - weary MT

no problems at all with it. My router, Linksys, is a nightmare if you have a problem. All tech help is overseas and it is unbelievably difficult to get help.

I no longer work as an MT; however, I have used two different DSL services and cable services and wireless broadband. I can tell you that in all three cases -- local ISP, Comcast, Verizon DSL, and Verizon wireless broadband, I have never had any problems with not having service. In my opinion, Verizon is just great. I have Verizon Wireless Broadband and use it on an iMac OS X Leopard and think that I have found my internet for life. :-) I can take it anywhere in the US and can also setup WiFi if I choose to.

The only problems that I have EVER had with internet service is when I had to connect to the server where I worked. That was a complete nightmare. I was constantly disconnected (every 15 to 30 minutes) every day and sometimes I couldn't even connect. I knew that it wasn't my internet in all three cases because I could do whatever I wanted very quickly otherwise. I did not use AOL -- AOL is junk, in my opinion; everything I used was always digital broadband. I think that it might be where you are connecting to, unless you live major miles away from the DSL CO office, which I am not sure that matters any more. Be careful about all of this because the services (including where you work) bicker with each, will tell you one thing and another, and I seriously have to believe the ISP because you are paying for their service; you are their customer whereas your company really has no clue as to what is going on and you are not their customer.

I love Verizon.

Cable/ DSL Only Requirement
Jul 10, 2011

It is very annoying to see so many companies with a DSL or cable only requirement to apply for a position with them.  I use a fixed wireless connection with Doc-Q-Scribe and with ChartNet with absolutely no problems at alll.  In fact, I am consistently one of the top...or THE top producer of lines every month and I am up against MTs who mostly have cable and DSL.  That cable and DSL only policy is keeping some excellent MTs from applying for positions.  Many of these compan ...

Does C-phone Work With Cable Phone Line

I am thinking about switching my current phone line and going with a bundle deal for our second house.  Does Dictaphone C-phone work through a cable phone line?  I still have the copper wiring at my primary home because I was afraid to switch it so didn't include the phone service in our cable package there.  Thanks!    ...
