DigiScribe from DigiTel Software.
They have a suite of software for accounts that can also be purchased separately or bundled together and are a lot better than Express Scribe. The technical support is fabulous. If you are a busy service owner wanting to spend time with your workload instead of software, etc., I highly recommend this company. Andy is great, a true lifesaver. They have several component to a dictation system, DigiScribe, DigiAlert, Report Genie, and FTP Magic. Good luck and hope this helps.

I love the Start-Stop dictation/transcription software. I have only used the voice player, but it's the best I have ever used. Have used it for 3 years and have had no problems with it. Plays every type of voice file. Around $99.00 for software CD only. Can use the Infinity footpedal with it.

If you are ready to dole out money, then I would advise Gear Player. Otherwise, go with the free older version of Express Scribe, not the latest one.

But if you need to play DS2 files too, then go with the PRO version of Express Scribe.

it is the worst I have ever encountered. Since using Start-Start I always drop my test files into Start-Stop and the difference is night and day I'd wouldn't recommend ExpressScribe to anyone. I have heard of GearPlayer but several years ago there were a lot of complaints about the lack of tech help when there were problems with GearPlayer. Honestly, I've never even had a problem with Start-Stop in 3 years to need tech help. Just have to weigh the pros and cons and decide which software would suit your needs best.

Have tons of tips for using MDOL - mt13

If you need some tips moving dictations to your transcribing program let me know. There are slick ways of batch downloading files from MDOL and sliding them into your transcribing program.
If you need some help let me know. I'm glad you're going to give MDOL a try. I couldn't work without, but it takes a bit to really learn it so you can be as efficient as possible. Email me if I can be of any help.

Help! I May Need New Player Software... Apr 18, 2011
Hi. I've been using Express Scribe for years now and have never run into a situation where it couldn't play the files that I was working with. Recently I got a new job and now .ds2 files are going to be used more often and I just found out that Express Scribe doesn't play those. UGH! I don't have the kind of money to buy $100 software like Bytescribe. Does anyone know of any other wavplayer programs that are free or very low in price? Or maybe someon ...
Media Player Mar 02, 2014My client just sold his business but I stayed on with the new client. Why I Would NOT Recommend ATSI Feb 19, 2010Hello all! I am new to this forum and would just like to share my thoughts with you as I have read through some of your postings about different MT companies out there, like "Should I work here?" So, as nicely as I can say it, in a matter of my opinion:
My Top Ten Reasons why I would NOT recommend ATSI:
1. The pay. Straight CPL no matter if it's days, nights, weekends, holidays.
2. No raises, incentives, or bonuses.
3. NOT employee status...EVER...even after 90 days, you will ...
