This just irks me... - Sickupandfed

A couple months ago when we started getting the NSA message and the TL was insisting that we make up the time, I did some investigation. First, they OFFER us flex time when THEY need it, yet when we need our schedules flexed for something pertaining to us its a big no-no....I contacted HR and found out IT IS NOT MANDATORY that we MAKE UP TIME when there is NSA. It is simply AVAILABLE TO US should we want to make up the time. BUT, the TL's insist we make up our hours lost due to NSA...hence, verbatim email...."NSA will not be an excuse for being short on your hours this week." Are they resorting to scare tactics? NSA WILL BE MY EXCUSE for being short, because I am not a slave driven piecemeal worker in a factory, I am a HUMAN BEING! We DO NOT have to work extra hours (which coincidentally when they offer the flex time it takes away from MY work the next shift), so I am not about to chase the carrot to the finish line. I hope this makes sense, I just needed to rant a bit...all better now....ahhhh!

Document, document, document - make screen captures of your NSA message

If at all possible, make sure that date and time are included.

If the MTSO insists that you work a regular shift, and I believe Nuance does, if they have no work for you during that required shift, they must pay you at least minimum wage and they cannot require that you come back outside of your shift to "make up the lines." Check with your Department of Labor on this just on the off chance I'm not correct.

But make sure you have backup and more backup. Forward any Nuance emails to your own private email account so they don't get deleted from your system. Make screen caps of any NSA message. Make sure you have your ducks all lined up neatly in a row for when Nuance tries to take action against you.

Could you please explain how to do a screen capture to those of us more technically challenged? Thank you in advance.

How to do a screen capture - Another Nuance MT

To do a screen capture, just press Ctrl + PrintScreen. Then go to Paint (Programs>Accessories) and paste the image (Edit>Paste or Ctrl + V). Now you can save the image (I would save as a JPEG by using Save As and picking JPEG from the dropdown list) and email it to your personal computer for safe keeping or put it on a flash drive.

I have tried to do a screen capture multiple times, never worked. THIS did work -- thank you thank you!!

RE: Document, document - anon MT

Great advice! All the MTs need to document all the emails and IMs, screenshots, etc. Nuance will use things against you, but if you don't have it on paper, it does not exist

I tried print screen many ways but it would not work. I got out the camera and started taking pictures. It works just as well. : )

Something That Irks Me Today..........
Dec 09, 2009

So our CCM emails us saying when our work dries up there will be a certain account that we will help out on (as we have in the past).  She apologizes, saying she knows this is a very "difficult account, but we need to leave as few QA markers as possible."  This just rubs me the wrong way.  She's right--it's difficult alright--- but not in the way she is implying.  She implies it's difficult because of the "difficult" terminology used in all the cardiac cathete ...

It Still Irks Me That I Can't Ask For Another "ear" Without Getting Penalized!

How in the world are we supposed to learn anything new if we can't ask for help without the penalty of being docked and/or audited??  Are blanks supposed to be better than education? Do the docs truly like to see blanks in their reports? This company sucks big time! ...
