FIESA = STRESS - ugh
Posted: Apr 10, 2013
I don't know how much longer I can take FIESA...I even hate that name. Nit picking on everything...does it ever get better?
No, it doesn't get better. Save yourself. Stop looking at it. - NM

Always look at - new but old

I always look at mine as I want to know what I get marked off for. Sometimes it is helpful and sometimes it is not but I don't want them to be able to come back later and say that I never checked this like I was supposed to. I do know that it seems they are auditing more (or maybe it is just me). I maintain over 99% for the most part regularly and if I disagree with something have no problem in letting my TL know and they will reverse it.
I always look too. - sm

Have never had a problem getting something reversed.
I have tried over and over to get things reversed - and my sup. just avoids me.

so they don't get anything back from me--no FIESA.

I looked at Fiesa, I got my bonus. I looked at Fiesa, I lost my bonus. I didn't look at Fiesa, I didn't get my bonus. I didn't look at Fiesa, I got my bonus back. If someone can explain how any of that makes logical sense, I might go back to looking at it. For now, I am not paid when my fingers are not producing lines. I don't look at Fiesa.

I too am sick of FIESA. Like another poster, it has made me feel like I'm not a good MT and I KNOW I am.

I cringe every time I get the little "message" saying I have an email on COM AGENT. It is terrible and so very, very discouraging. I am at the point now where I think to myself, "I USED to be a good transcriptionist" and that is what I despise the most, especially when I get points deducted for putting "has" instead of "had", even if I heard "has". It usually takes me 2 or 3 days to sort of get back up to speed as far as my line count, which has degenerated from last year my making in the teens per hour to just above minimum wage now. I don't know what to do. I am 57 and hate the idea of looking for new work.
So true - ugh

I feel the same way and it is downright depressing to go from "the top of your game" to barely making minimum wage. I dread even signing on in the mornings.
True ugh - anon

I feel the same way too. I dread signing on. Barely making enough money to pay the bills and on top of that I have FIESA telling me that I suck.
Nuance likes making their employees feel unworthy, stupid and like they are doing us a favor to even let us work. I have been transcribing for over 20 years and I know I can do my job. I suppose they have to belittle us to make themselves look important.
It is all going to come crashing down on them someday. I will probably not be around to see it, but they will get what they deserve. Nasty, Nasty Nuance and their crazy QA that needs policing gives me a headache.
Karma is a witch! And when they no longer have employees willing to put up with their crap, they will no longer have jobs in the US. I used to be proud to be a transcriptionist, now I hate it. Ready to retire.
i thought it was just me - ugh
[ In Reply To ..]
I literally could not believe how bad Nuance made me feel. I have been transcribing for over 20 years and have always gotten positive feedbacks, bonuses, etc. UNTIL I started with Nuance.
Not alone. sm - Dew

"Discouraging" is a good word to describe the atmosphere at Nuance.
Currently I am in a vicious cycle: QA score of about 98.9% thanks to the little things that do not affect patient care ("patient/the patient" types of things), get an email from TSM to increase score. Line count goes down because I am double checking *everything* (E5 platform contributes to low lines), get an email from TSM that I am not meeting min production and to increase it. Repeat from beginning. Expecting an email from TSM about line count this pay period.
I am 50 and planning to get out of MT. Just have to figure out what exactly (not coding as I started the course, but not my cup of tea).
Just like the others....don't look at it. - I KNOW I am a good MT
[ In Reply To ..]
I've ALWAYS been a good MT until I came to Nuance. Their constant cycle of lines per hour, quality, blanks to QA, and/or not working schedules is SET UP to degrade you. No doubt in my mind. While looking at it constantly every day, I drove myself crazy and couldn't make the LPH quota because I was double checking everything due to error corrections in FIESA. When I finally couldn't stand the degradation anymore, I did away with the problem. I STOPPED LOOKING. I concentrate on what I'm doing, make certain I'm doing the best job I can and send that report on its way. Every once in a while, I'll log into FIESA and scan the corrections but I don't waste ANY time on getting upset or mad or reporting the ones I think are wrong. I don't even initial the comment boxes anymore. Scan them, pick out what I think I need, close it down. When you get that e-mail from your TL about not meeting something or other, delete it. Just MAKE SURE you are doing YOUR part. You need to make sure you're working your hours and literally WORKING during them. You need to use absolutely ever resource available to you to make your job easier and faster. I'm 59, been doing this job for 20+ years in all facets of it. I STILL like being at home to do my job and I felt JUST LIKE YOU only a few months ago. I solved my problem by not allowing them to make me feel worthless. I'm worth more than what they pay but I'm too old to keep switching companies and I had to figure out what I could do to help ME. Not them. ME. My line counts have come up, I'm not meeting any kind of bonus but I really don't aspire to, I show up for my schedule and work it, and I leave it in my computer at the end of my shift. Been here for over a year now from Transcend (which I ADORED) and I'm sticking it out. I CAN DO THIS WITH NUANCE. So can you, if you put your mind to it, and keep out the negative forces (including some of the constant whiners on this board). Just my opinion....

No More Stress-woohoo Jul 10, 2013I quit my job due to health issues and my stress level has gone way down. I worked for 8 years here and it was okay. There were tough times, but it was mostly okay because my TSM/CCM left me alone but were accessible if needed. They answered my emails and phone calls (even though there were about 5 or so different ones through the years). It was just aggravating when good accounts would go to ASR. But, I don't have to worry anymore. Hope things get better ...

ESL & Poor Dictator Stress Feb 01, 2013No more microscopic QA dissection for me. My new plan is to shoot the job full of blanks and send it in - far less stressful for sure.

Finally Got Out, Stress Level GONE Sep 22, 2014I finally got to the point I hated time for work. I went through 2 buyouts and it just seemed to get worse. I have watched QA people busted down due to not getting enough lines per hour, which is impossible when there's not enough work, and when most of the acute care work was 100% listens. I got ONE raise in 7 years yet the duties kept piling on and found out some were making 4.00 an hour more than me in lower positions. On days off you were expected to join meetings no m ...

A Free While-You-Work Stress Buster Jan 23, 2010I've found a wonderful way to reduce stress while working long hours. It reduces dramatically the times I've wanted to choke some of the bad dictators I seem to constantly get. It's called ShoutCast and it's free internet radio.
