Newbie.. Not sure where to post ?'s - Steph

Hi to Everyone,

I just found this website today when I was researching my reports for school. I am excited and thankful to find a website of medical transcriptionists I can talk to.

I was needing to find out where I should post questions about my reports that I am working on? I have tried looking everywhere but there are different boards for everything and I don't want to post it where it isn't meant to be and not be able to get a reponse from someone. Hope all that makes sense!?

Odds are, most questions posted would pertain to blanks or needing help with a particular phrase or term. In that case, I would post under "Word Help."

the posting guidelines for the new MT's board and the word help board,and nowhere does it say that anyone would not be allowed to post for something like this.

You should be asking those sorts of - questions

of your instructors. That's what you're paying them for. You should insist on getting your money's worth, and they should be expected to respond to your needs.

As you are not yet working, we understand that you don't realize that expecting a working MT to take time to answer your questions is asking them to give up potential income to help you. Working MTs will take time to help other working MTs as a courtesy to colleagues. Once you are working, your help will come from other MTs (and you can reciprocate). For now, you need to
address your questions to your instructors.

Your instructors should be your first and best recourse for questions as, again, that is what they are being paid to do. They should not be telling you to get your answers from message boards. Really, how would you know whether the answer you got was right? You're still learning, so you don't have the experience to evaluate answers. This is why you need to address your questions to your instructors.

K, I understand where you are coming from and I do call my school for their help. I was just looking for some other help before calling them. But I will not be posting about it at all as of the post before yours says not to post about that. I had just made it to this website from google because someone had the same question I did on a word in a report.

Sometimes I'm not sure what to do when they say "post" ... something. I know if it is postauricular (for example), it is attached ... but how about post aneurysmal surgery? It does not seem like it would be attached. - Is it proper to leave it stand-alone or should I change it to status post ... or actually attach it? Thanks in advance!! ...

After so many questioned my former post, I reviewed MQ's PTO policy. They state a maximum of 18 days for full-time employees which is 3 days more than I was offered when I last worked full-time (after 30 years). I know exactly the company you are talking about and have wondered the same thing. The person who wrote the rules must not have a full understanding of the VR program. At this company, we are supposed to adhere to the account specifics to a T if we type on the account, but if we get a VR job on that same account we are supposed to ignore the account specifics and leave it as VR puts it unless there are blatant errors. There's a post below about Transolutions, but nobody addressed the NJA issue. Does this happen in a big way at this company? I don't mean the usual LITTLE slumps here and there around a big holiday, I'm talking NJA on a regular basis. ...
