is it okay to have a conflict on timecard? - out of work

I am using the excused absence - out of work leave type.  Since it is happening during my shift, it shows as a conflict.  Do I need to change it so there is no conflict? I think they should change their system so that it doesn't show a conflict, but then I think a lot of things that are not going to happen.

Here is what I do - Excused Absence

When I run out of work and take excused absence, all I do is put the total hours/minutes left; I don't put a time frame. For example, if I work 4 hours and run out of work, I put in 15 minutes of work availability into Teamwork, so that leaves 3.75 hours. 3.75 hours is what I put into the Total Hours box and leave the rest as is. I asked my TSM; she said that was okay to do. That may be the only way to do it without coming up with a conflict anyway. Hope this helps!

How do you get the option of excused absence - I only get work avail.

I also dont have a total hours box.

You have to go into - "Leave" section

in Teamwork and select "Add Leave Request" (like you would if you were putting in a PTO request). In the drop down menu, select Excused Absence - No Work. Oh...it's actually not Total Hours, it's Hours of Leave...sorry.

I guess I'm supposed to put in a time frame that's actually outside of my schedule but that doesn't make sense. Well, I'll ask my TSM.

She advised me to contact HR, which I did, who also told me the policy is we do NOT have to use our PTO for NSA. Why not just read your contract and find out for yourself instead of relying on the opinions of other people? In the end, neither company will care what someone told you; they will only care about a contract YOU  signed. I am scheduled for 35 hours a week.  If I only got 28 hours last week becuase of the holiday (no work) and the day after (no work), and not being able to make up all of that time, how is it legal that the CCM just takes my PTO and adds that to my timesheet to cover that 7 hours?  I thought we can be released with no pay.  I mean, geez... I did not request the holiday off, I signed on for my shift and only got a couple hours.  That is not my fault they overstaffed the holiday. ...
