grass isn't always greener - sm

Posted: Mar 07, 2010

I got an email from someone who left MQ for a different company and the working conditions are downright dispicable!  I by no means am a MQ cheerleader anymore, but the grass isn't always greener.  I'm staying my butt right here until I get laid off or fired and will continue to jump through the hoops.  I have a plan B, so should everyone else!

The grass isn't ALWAYS going to be greener. It depends where you go. All I know is I could not put up with their crap anymore. I found a place (small) where the grass is greener. You have to keep looking. It might not be easy to find a good place to work but the search is worth it. I just hate to see anyone abused. JMO

Good for you! - focus on the positives

Being negative is not productive in any way.

Think of it as change that will come and this too shall pass.

Everything else MQ has dealt their employees has passed and this is just something new to complain about.

Just do the best job you can, send the blanks, and document the e-mails you are sent regarding this issue.

Business is business. We still need to provide for ourselves.

Other MTs say to me - but you are only making 8 cpl. My reply: Yes, you are right, but I have easy dictators, a supportive office staff that I contract with, and I do it all online. This is all worth it to me.

Each individual has their own agenda as how it should be.
Thanks for posting OP! Your statement is very true indeed!

You are very lucky if you have easy dictators. - anon

I used to have some easy dictators, but now I get many, many very difficult and different dictators, never get a chance to get familiar with them. When got new CCM over a year ago my primary for the most part disappeared. CCM has never called to discuss with me. Cannot make any money and now threatened, not fair at all. Expected now to understand these ESLs the first or second time and cannot do it. They are jibbering and running things together and I have no idea what they are saying. Then have to hear how we are less knowledgable, are you kidding? Very conscientious, want to do things correctly, doing the more difficult reports, then told you are less knowledgable because you can't understand the physician who is dictating a mile a minute, thinks he/she can speak great English, which he/she cannot. Punished for this! So discouraging.

I know. I told everyone it would not be - a few years ago.

Since MQ is the largest, it will cause other companies to follow the practices of MQ. Since MQ can get away with it, why not others follow!

As for grass being greener? It is for me! Gone back to school. Getting out of this profession while I still have the chance. It will never be greener if you stay in this field, but it will be a lot greener if you get out. Breaking the ball and chains and breaking free from MQ prison.

I left & have a better line rate, better schedule, - But sometimes it is

better working conditions, not a lot of constant changes and corporate idiocy, don't have to punch a time clock, and don't run out of work. I do occasionally still look at this board to see what craziness MQ is pulling now because I feel for the ones stuck there.

The Grass Is Not Greener
Feb 16, 2010

I was hired twice in the past 6 months and quit both jobs within 2 to 3 days.  Thank goodness I did not quit my regular job!  Both jobs sounded absolutely wonderful and both turned out to be total nightmares!  I no longer look at the jobs listed here or anywhere else, for that matter.  You know the old saying "better the devil you know that the devil you don't know."  Wow, how true that is! It seems that the companies who are now looking, are all at the bottom of ...

Just A Word Of Advice, Grass Not Always Greener
Jul 19, 2011

I worked for the Q for many, many years, then left.  I went into another line of work for a while, then for reasons I won't go into, that didn't work out.  I decided to give Amphion a try. They do require few hours (35-40) which I like, but they have a crazy, convoluted way of figuring your "adjusted lines."  The work has been easy so far, mostly clinic notes. However, they do not pay anything extra for working on holidays and if you don't make the quota for th ...

Sneaky Snake-in-the-grass Audits
Mar 04, 2014

I really think they insert words while auditing to make us look like we're making mistakes when we aren't.  It makes them look like they're doing their job, and keeps us on edge, which is what they seem to want.  That's not to say we don't make occasional small errors, but so what - they should be kissing our feet for the good work we do provide.  Unless we copy every single report we do to compare with their interpretation, we have no recourse to&nbs ...
