working outside of the primary account AND have they told all the docs to dictate as sloppy as they can so there is more garble that cannot be understood! type and read and then read over again, along with all the added QA note this QA note that, there is no way to actually make any time.
Nuance is required to pay for your 10-minute rest breaks separately and clearly display it on your pay stub. You are owed 1 hour of pay for every day PAID breaks are not provided going back 3 years. Their nonsense of stating breaks are figured into your line pay is illegal since when you log out to take a break, your production stops. Contact your local labor commission. ...
Hi Folks. Sent in a resume'. Then went in to review the ad again and it is gone. Does anyone remember what they were paying for the IC position? How can I get to the original ad? ...
The thread on another board about letters to newspapers sparked an idea. I am putting together a letter that I will initially be sending to HR. My objective is to get, in writing, the rationale/justification behind not being compensated for the various daily tasks we are REQUIRED to do. A few minutes here and there, throughout the day, every day, over days, weeks, months and years...well, that really adds up!. If anyone is willing to take a moment to list those thing ...
I had sent my resume, tested, and received an e-mail back asking about when I would like to start working last week. Time goes by and nothing. I figured it was because we had the Turkey Day holiday. I have sent followup e-mails and even called and left a couple of messages and still nada. Anyone have any experience with Volunteer Transcription they would like to share? ...
There are job openings on the job seekers board with Volunteer Transcription. Anyone know anything about this company? Also says pay is "biweekly." Doesn't that mean twice a week? Sounds like a typo. ...
This field is PATHETIC. I once worked for TTD and every single payday, my check was either short or I did not receive it at all. When I questioned the owner about my pay, I was let go...simply asking for the money I made...A--- fired me. Come to find out a short time later that she had ditched every worker in the company...either shorting their pay or not paying them at all and above all, she even owed money to workers in INDIA as well. I thought this was just because TTD was sick company whose ...
I have an opportunity to test and be hired by them but it seems it is taking them so long to get back to me for the next step. Anyone else having this trouble. Anyone know anything good or bad about this company? ...
Can anyone who current works for or have worked for in the past give me any info on Volunteer Transcription out of Johnson City, Tennessee. Please feel free to E-mail me if you prefer.
Any info would greatly be appreciated, in particular pay issues, work load, communication. They seem really nice, but I just got that "sinking feeling."
TIA ...
I am looking for anything in HIM (but not finished with HIM classes yet) - how can I make it look like I've done more with my life than transcribed for 15 years? I've had offices in many local organizations, etc and taught youth groups.. I just feel like when recruiters see my resume they see "15 years sitting and typing"... ...
I am really amazed at the mentality of people on this board regarding testing. "Geez my personal identity will be stolen etc., yet you are MTs and most of you use cell phones, etc, but have no worries about sending or receiving text messages and having your identity stolen, but you are PARANOID about taking a test -- ie personal information being given. Well yes, my computer was "hacked" but I do not believe it was from MTTEST. If you go into the private sector ...
Please note the posts in re: KEYS THAT PLEASE. This company *may* be legitimate but they are requesting as part of a test process files up to 32 minutes long, that I believe are *also* current files. A lot of newer MTs (and even not so new) may not realize this can be a red flag for scammers - people looking to get a backlog cleared up for 'free' under the guise of hiring for a true position. Could you consider posting a warning to all posters to be careful about t ...
Hey MTSOs, I think you need to pay attention. According to a news release, Wal-Mart is INCREASING their minimum wage pay to $9 by April of this year and then no less than $10 by February 2016. Pretty bad when a local grocery chain knows how to treat their employees better than you do...not bring then down like you do. They are trying to shed their bad image. MTSOs...I bet you dont have the grapes to do the same thing WITHOUT raising production requirements. No grape ...
Make sure you enter it as jury duty and not "excused no pay." Your CCM may tell you to enter it as the latter but in most if not all states, your employer is required to pay you. ...
Just need to let off some steam in case a UNM Manager happens to read this board. So tired of all your perky little emails about how the team has to "pull together" on the weekends and show UNM "what this great team is made of." FYI...this team is made of tired MTs typing their fingers to the bone, already having given up on reaching that bonus that barely exists. Getting repeatedly warned about answering emails you send to us DEMANDING overtime responses, while ...
This is my first time posting, but I hope you can be of help.
Is the glucose in the CMP ever expressed as a decimal? I have always thought it a whole number. I left a blank after the glucose value where there was a definite audio blip ending in "point 1." I assumed this was the calcium value and doc cut the beginning off. The account auto sends all blanks regardless of reason to QA. ...
I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor. You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars. Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India. What a difference. They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years. The US transcriptionists are very sad!! What a difference..... ...
I have a PC with Vista and a PC with Windows 7 and it is done differently than Windows XP. Thought I would never figure it out. Here goes....
Go to <control panel>
Click on <Ease of Access Center>
Click on <Set up High Contrast>
Click on <Choose a High Contrast Color Scheme>
A box labeled <Appearance Settings> will come up. There will be a drop down box with different choices. I don't think it matters which theme you choose.&n ...
not been ONE SINGLE LINE so far in any report that has not needed editing in some fashion. Not ONE SINGLE LINE. Usually multiple things in every line including stupid little words it leaves out, stupid things it adds, repetition by the doctor that it cannot discern, blatant errors of the ASR, punctuation, numbering, and on and on and on --- for 60% of my line rate? If there are folks who have great ASR and can just breeze through with a cursory proofread, more power t ...
to the endless QAing is done. Do you read intensely, do you learn much, is it tossed, is it sort of a maze for you to go through? Have worked a lot of years, never seen any company this intense on putting its workers through a wringer. I would say some there have the confidence of a slug with all this baloney. ...
they blame it on the transcriptionists. I get told that this must be the way the transcriptions are editing the output. Are there really that may bad/horrible transcriptionists in the company??? I don't believe there are that many poor transcriptions..... unless they are using ILP's to train the ASR. Maybe that is the question I should be asking: Is the output so poor because you (the software techs) including ILP editing?? ...
I've included a link about a bill that proposes stricter definition/penalties for misclassifying employees/ICs. We all know this is rampant in this industry; who would you contact about this?

Please don't discourage me from applying to Nuance. I just lost my job today and I need a job BAD! Plus, I've only got two semesters of college left before I graduate and move out of this field. Anyway, can someone tell me what 2nd shift hours are? And I'm curious to know when most of you work.
Thanks ...
Somehow, I think we should be getting paid for the time we are waiting between jobs, especially since the wait isn't fitting into the 15-minute wait period. - Of course, waiting put under work availability. ...
...check it out for yourselves. Employees are not independent contractors. If you signed up for a straight 8 per day, your time sheet should reflect only the breaks you take off the clock. They are so messing with you folks! ...
I have had so much work this week I felt like my head was spinning from one account to the next, to the next platform and back, and then to the next platform and next acount, and all over again. I've been working on a couple new ESL's and I literally wanted to put my head down at some points and just cry. Listening to their rolling tongue and 100-mile-per-hour speech over and over again trying to understand what they were saying. It was making me nuts!! I'm ...
Best early Christmas present I could have ever given myself! Now I can't say for sure that the new company I signed on with as an IC is going to be any better, but a girl can dream, can't she? At any rate, it will be different and will hopefully give me a more flexible schedule so that I can work on that totally new career of upscale cat furniture. I have not finished my prototype yet as hubby may be getting a new job too and we might be moving for this new job. ...
Has anyone elsed noticed that ASR sometimes "takes a break" on Fridays???
I was doing pretty good with my line count for the week, hoping to make a decent bonus tier for this last week before the new pay plan rolls out.
Then, BOOM... nearly all reports are straight transcription this morning. Long op notes that I usually edit this time each day (and can get a very good LPH) I now have to type out.
Bye bye bonus. ...
