Doubt few, if any, actually look at it and use it to improve themselves. For me it just gets deleted without even opening it.

It as well, unread. To me it's just blah blah blah. Reading it isnot going to make me type any faster, it's another scare tactic used to get to those who LET IT! It's a waste of my time, just like those status updates on number of jobs and number of line emails we get every 3-4 hours. Are ANY of you actually more productive by seeing how many lines there are at a particular time of day?

We all know its not useful or easy to read, so why bother making that up? They dont own this board and they dont know who posts what. Your welcome, now you dont have to live a lie!

I like the Smart Summary. It gives me what I want to know.
I like this job. I hope I can meet the standards, which are difficult. Regardless, I am grateful for this job and the years I have been employed with MQ/MM.
Regarding min wage, it works for me in my situation, so not living any lie, not trying to please anyone, just trying to be compliant.
Your response seems very hostile.
If they read this board, I don't want them to think everyone hates the Smart Summary. I don't. I look forward to it.
I just received my W-2 from an employer who consistently paid late for the last 1-2 years. The employer has yet to finish paying me for work from the last quarter of the year and is about $600 to $700 short of what he owes me. The W-2 reflects the whole amount that I had earned instead of just what had been paid by the end of the year. Has this happened to anyone before? If so, what did you do?
My feeling is - not only that I cannot file an incorrect W-2 legally, but also that if I file w ...
I do not like this..I like a FULL screen and I hate being distracted by stuff on the side. What happens if there are left-over headings...or if we use our own? Anybody? ...
These scores get lower all the time for the most ridiculous things. Medical records were transcribed just fine prior to this BS! It's purely punitiive to be forced to look at what these queen bees do to our work. We never needed a "middle man" analyzing these reports in the past. Pathetic! ...
You are just back at square one with the same problem, NO WORK. How about a true solution instead of just taking a meaningless action that solves nothing. ...
This has been bothering me for many months now but I feel so stuck needing my benefits. I can't change jobs because I rely on the medical insurance and can't afford Cobra while changing jobs.
I love working 3rd shift and my job gladly accomodates; however, I'm constantly sold short because I'm left being the only 3rd shift MT most nights, expected to check queue on 5 different account log-ins to monitor TATs and logging in and out accordingly. Obviously thi ...

Had a dictation this morning where the physician said "dictating a discharge summary" and then changed it to "scribing a discharge summary" and not sure what to think of that. Any ideas? ...
I was cracking up by the time I got to the end - who was this written for? "database replication and application failover"??? I think they made that up! ...
Hi, I am struggling on finding the medication in the blank below. This is from a discharge summary of someone who had deep venous thrombosis.
Here is the sentences:
DISCHARGE MEDICATIONS: Warfarin 5 mg daily, Lovenox 60 mg daily for 4 more days, (___) 40 mg daily. She will be on a low salt diet.
* The blank sounds like nodwar, nodwarf, nodar?
Any help is appreciated :) Thanks.

By sharing how to make a macro in Word 2010 for the following 2 things: I work in eScription.
Remove a period and space and uncap the next word
and
Add a period and 2 spaces and cap the next word
Is this even possible to do?
This would be so much help on my poor old wrists with the 100% VR (I'm actually almost happy for the low work volume lately...they hurt so bad). I researched high and low but could not find an understandable, easy way to make a ma ...
Hi all, I purchased a new computer over Christmas with a very large screen due to having poor eyesight. Everything seems fine until I get into ChartScript, where everything is so very, very small. It is worse than with my smaller screen. I have to literally stand up and put my nose to the screen to make sure I have correct patient info in the demographics, etc. Any suggestions? Is there something on the screen itself I can adjust, or do you think it is within ChartS ...
Back in the mid and late 80s, I was VERY proud to be an MT! MTs were savvy and SMART. In fact, they were SO smart -- or at least knowledgable and proficient -- that docs RELIED ON THEM to repair poorly dictated or hastily dictated transcription.
My friend/former boss is a rheumatologist who constantly used to say, "I KNOW you're a deep thinker, so WHY are you a medical transcriptionist?" Until recently, I didn't really understand why he aske ...
So far this week I have had 2 hours on Monday, 0 on Tuesday, 0 Wednesday and 30 minutes today. Last week I only got 8 hours.
Emailed TSM about changing books of business and she said no one is looking for first shift, although I doubt she even asked since she emailed me back almost immediately (which never ever happens). Also, there are some MTs on here who say they have plenty of work, so why won't she send me there? Asked me to switched to late 2nd shift. However, there is still ...
I downloaded the trial version of Smart Type and have been trying to use it for the last two days. I think it might work for me but I have a lot of word expanders in Word 2010 that would take me forever to duplicate in Smart Type. Is there any easier way? And how long does it normally take to become proficient in using this program. Right now it is slowing me WAY down!
Thanks for any help you can give me. ...
wondering about how stable stedman's smarttype is for everyone else. I have used the program for years, but noticed recently odd things happening. Has anyone else had unexpected things happen with smartype and word 2007. What could I replace it with that would be its equal? Call the programmers consortium who made the program originally, but no one knows anything. Could use some light shed on the subject.

I have downloaded Smart Type on Word 2007 but it does not start when I open a document. Could anyone tell me what I have to do to get it running. Thanks! ...
I work in Dictaphone /EXText. I am dependent on my Stedman's Smartype for 100s of 1000s of terms with which I am not familiar, and to which I have total access while in EXText. However, I am not able to pull Smartype Smart Blocks (which I have created while in Word but not in EXText) into a current document. In the past, I got around this problem at work by creating "instant macros," going into ctrl-s, cutting, pasting into current document and using as a g ...
