What equipment would I need if I found other work besides Mmodal? (SM) - ks

I've been with Mmodal for many years, have been transferred to other CCMs and accounts but just last week I was transferred to one because it was behind then one day later transferred back to original CCM and that account that they just sent me to is now my primary. I know we all have to transcribe ESL and ASR or straight transcription. I don't think the ESL I had last week knows this language at all. I'm more than willing to transcribe ESL and I think I'm in the minority when it comes to ASR. I would love to do ASR over transcription any day and was told that last account will be ASR when that team switches to DQS7, I'm on DQS7 now. No matter, I'll still have that account as my primary. I even told both CCMs that I cannot do that and will have to leave. My question is before I apply for another job, what other equipment do I need to get so I could be prepared just in case I'd find something else, as I'll probably have to use my own computer and not the company's like Mmodal. I know I'll need a foot pedal, is a wav pedal the same thing? Any ideas on how much RAM I'd need? A year ago, I did find a job, parttime is all I can handle, but when the interviewer found out I didn't have enough RAM or other equipment, I never heard from her again.

[ In Reply To ..]It is hard to say what you will need exactly. Some companies still provide computers, foot pedals, or other things you may need. Most of them will have what you need listed when you apply. I would not rush out and buy anything as it could take a week or 2 weeks after you are hired to get working on the account. They will let you know when you get hired and you can get what you need then. :) Good luck to you :)

Hey there all! Some community colleges offers a certificate program for Medical Stenoscriptionists, "Preparing medical records and reports using a stenograph machine" per 1 class catalog. Not finding a lot of info on it, just schools that office courses/certificates. Apparently the production of reports is similar to court reporting. Could this be the future for EHR, or is it the same as MT'g? Any opinions welcome. ...
