Well, I lost my insurance when I was forced to go part time after having uterine cancer. I also have DM with blood sugars in the 600s, BP so high they can't get it to register, and also depression. I went to a "Low income" Clinic yesterday. First time going to the doctor since losing my insurance. If it were not for the DM being so high and the symptoms, I would not have even gone. Well, BP was too high to register. They wanted me to go to the ER. Again, no insurance. Gave me Clonidine x3 30 minutes apart. Finally got it down to 200/120. I went to the front desk to pay, and I was told that I owed $250. I had no tests done whatsoever. I saw people leaving only owing $10. One lady paid $25 for her last 3 visits. You can just imagine what my BP went up to when they told me my bill was $250. I paid $50, and some of that was my gorcery money. I got scripts for Norvasc, Zoloft and the insulin (which is over $450 a month). I might as well threw my money out the window, as they did not help me one bit. I will not go back there, and I will not go see another doctor until I am 65 and on Medicare.
Im insured through another source - and sm

the rates went up due to Obamacare..But they did let us register with some kind of wellness thing, where they track the preventables and I have to talk to them once in a while on the phone..but it cut out 500 a year in premiums..Im in pretty good health, only prob is cholesterol, so not sure what they want me to talk about, its familial and only can be controlled by meds, which I wont take..Hey they should be happy, if I crap out thats one less person they have to insure.
Please take care of yourself and find some way - sm

to see a doctor to take care of your health. With your health issues not managed 65 may be a dream. Good luck.
It starts with you - Make time for yourself

Nobody is scheduled more than 40 hours per week and most people are at 24 or less. I know out of 24 hours a day you can find 30 minutes or an hour to take a walk or put on some music and dance. By exercising you will relieve stress and you might just actually help the problems you mentioned like obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes.
We all know we have a sedentary job and a stressful one too, that is why we have to take extra care to make sure we get more exercise. We are not victims and it is not any company's fault if we do not take care of ourselves the way we should.
I actually switched to a split shift so I could have a few hours in the middle of the day to take a walk and get some chores/errands done because I just cannot sit for 8 hours straight any more. Plus at the end of 8 I was just beat. Now with a 4 and 4 and some days 3 and 5 I actually have more energy at the end of the day.
There is more to life than this job. You have take care of yourself so you will be around to enjoy it.
