A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
Well it's that time!!! Next Tuesday is my last day at work (the hospital I work for goes live with MModal). There are 12 remote transcriptionists at our hospital and only one accepted a position with MModal. So, whoever works in possibly the North region you all will be getting lots of work soon. None of us are doing very much to get the work caught up. It's kind of bittersweet but since we were officially outsourced and signed our paperwork, none of us care to get their dictation done as we did before. I have finally accepted the fact my job is going away and feel relieved that it is almost over. I do find it hard to give myself any longer. It's all I can do to get my 8 hours in as the desire to work for them has since faded. Anyway, I start to school next week and it's on to better things. I am excited about school and will enjoy my time off on severance and UE until the right job comes my way. I took my MModal offer package back and put it in the shredder at work in front of my supervisor (that was kind of fun)!
I am free at last - and thanks to all of you who answered my questions at the beginning of my ordeal with MModal and my employer. I was totally in the dark about MTSOs albeit MModal or whoever and had never had to deal with working for one. What came to light was that I would NEVER depend on working for a MTSO for my livelihood. Just could not find one positive thing that could come from that option. So, here I GOOOO and wish me luck. I do pray that whatever is salvageable about being a MT can happen in the near future - I just hate that I cannot afford to do the career I have enjoyed and loved. Take care all and again my prayers are with you!
