Orange vs Red Headings - which are paid? - anon

Posted: Nov 05, 2013

A while back someone posted that either the red or orange headings were paid, and what the difference was between them.  I have gone back and tried to find the post but I can't find it - can someone post again, which ones we are paid for, if any?

Thanks in advance!

I have never seen an orange heading... - Ginger

I've never seen an orange heading. What platform are you using? I use DocQScribe.

DocQScribe - but I have both red and orange headings - original poster

I'm not sure what the significance of red vs orange is - it seems like someone posted here not too long ago that we're not paid for red ones but we are paid for orange ones but I can't find that post now. :(

you mean the bold red ones vs regular red? - I think we are paid for all

[ In Reply To ..]
call me naive, but I believe we are paid for all headings. The only difference is the bold ones are on the preferred headings list.
I know what you mean, and thank you for your reply but ... - original poster

Some reports come to me with red headings (light or dark like you described) and some come to me with orange ones. It depends on the facility.

Wow, I'm finding it hard to believe I'm the only one ...
Sorry. We are not paid for any headings anymore. - NM

OK then, what's the difference if not paid vs unpaid? - original poster

Why the color differentiation?

I think... - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
One just means they are regular headings, and the other color shows that they are headings as part of a document standard.
i always thought they meant the client didnt require body after allergies - heading

I am on Cornerstone, but as I understand it... - sm.

any automated heading or subheading, either put in by ASR, pulled in from a normal, or a preferred heading, is NOT paid for. Headings you manually type are paid for. Yes, I have used character counters and this does seem to be the case. Of course, we still have to check them and edit them and move them around and are still responsible for making sure they are correct just like ADT, but no we are not paid for them. As far as I can tell from posts on here, MM has been making DQS more and more like Cornerstone, so it could be some are paid and some are not.

Ah, OK - thank you. That might explain why ... - original poster

...the big push to get us to use the preferred headings list. It's been almost an insistence ... but just think of the money they don't have to pay us when we use it.
We aren't paid for any headings, red, orange or any other color. - FreeLaborForMM

and has so many that we would never need. But hey I'm just an MT what do I know.
It doesn't matter. MM doesn't care. They do NOT - SM

Questioned my line counts being off. Like I said, this info is regarding Cornerstone. I have no info on DQS. Email HR if you want to know for sure.
I used to work on Cornerstone, headings were paid there - also. NM

I had on my old computer the specific policies - for cornerstone and Fluency
[ In Reply To ..]
Unfortunately I have a new computer and have lost the links, but the only difference in policies for pay was that on Cornerstone you get paid for CC's and on Fluency you do not. Headings are paid on both systems. HR very rarely really knows their own policies.
Yes, they sent me the official document. Get over yourself. They - change stuff every week here. Who cares....

What was on your old computer. I wish we were paid for them. I HAVE CHEcKED MY LINE COUNTS,for the third time. Goodness.
I think you are full of it and spreading erroneous information. - Who cares if you
[ In Reply To ..]
think you have checked your line counts. I was on Cornerstone and I got paid for headings just like everyone else.
you are wrong but I know you can't be convinced - see message

The Rewards Plan that came out in September of this year says we are paid for XML headers: The count includes XML headers (i.e., , inclusive of the â<, >, /â characters), expansions and standards/normals.

However: The count excludes document headers, document footers, CCs, QA Markers and ADT information not entered into the unformatted document (which is stuff we don't see).

If you truly believe that they are operating on a different standard than the rewards plan that was published only 2 months ago, you should seriously be doing something about it, i.e., contacting your attorney.
This is exactly what I have been saying all along - We are paid for Headings
[ In Reply To ..]
not headers, which was what this whole thread was about. Shees, talk about arguing for the sake of arguing. We are paid for HEADINGS which generally are red, which is what people on the board were trying to say we were not paid for. I'm glad you finally got it right, as I have been right all along.
Now you are arguing with as second person. As I stated I know.. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The difference between headings and headers. When I check my line count on a SR report that has a lot of head ings and subheadings, the Cornerstone count is always short. If I remove the headings and subheadings, it matches. Like I said, I wish that weren't the case. That is why I contacted HR. Others on Cornerstone can try it for themselves with SR reports.
PS. I am assuming you know that XML headers are the - red headings. NM

So you use a document relating to Fluency to - prove your point and

when that doesn't work, you try and make exceptions. Sorry, but the document for Cornerstone also states headings are paid for. Obviously you don't even understand what you are reading so why would anyone believe you know what you are talking about.
No, I said nothing about the fluency document. - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
I assume you mean the mandatory headings that bold when you use them? We do get paid for all headings

All headings are paid for, it is Headers that - are not paid for.

[ In Reply To ..]
Headers are the formatting at the top of the report that we don't even see. Headings that are in the report are all paid for.

You can find this in the MT Rewards Plan - document at the website. NM

About Red Headings Put In By ASR
Oct 11, 2012

While editing, have you ever come across a read heading that is not meant to be there and sometimes has nothing to do with what is dictated, and then, upon normalizing the heading with ctrl-shift-H, it shows exactly what was dictated?  This happens all the time with me, but this one really stood out.  The red heading was FAMILY AND SOCIAL.  What was dictated was "dairy and wheat."  Without typing what was dictated, I normalized the heading and, sure enough, "dairy and wheat" ...

Headings In 7.1
Oct 21, 2012

What bugs me is that since switching to DQS 7.1, all the headings in the ROS and PE are in lower case now, and each time I edit, I have to change them back to caps per client preference. They used to be in all caps. I have them in the expander, but it's still time consuming to go through and change them each and every time. ...

Make sure your headings are spelled correctly before uploading as the spell checker ignores them completely, which makes me highly suspicious that they are not included in our line count whether we type them or insert them.  You know, DQS was the only good thing MQ had going for it until this update.  They had some good ideas, but implemented them poorly, not to mention should have done a beta with a handful of non-suck-up and non-family-member-to-the-CEO MTs first.  I have a fe ...

Preferred Headings
Aug 07, 2013

I think every single one of us should put in a ticket in Remedy complaining about this "preferred heading" list.  There is absolutely no reason for this!  It just slows up down when trying to upload a job!  Can somebody tell me what the purpose is for the spell check stopping on every single heading that is not in the "preferred list?"  There is none!  All these dictators want their own little headings in red, and we're not going to switch to one of the "suggestions ...

EditScript/Headings
Oct 17, 2013

My EditScript keeps inserting headings (PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, CHIEF COMPLAINT, ETC) when they are not dictated.  With my accounts, I am required to delete any heading that is not dictated, and most of the time the dictators don't dictate them, so I have to spend a lot of time deleting headings, sometimes 10 or more in a report. :(   My question is, is there some way to "reprogram" EditScript so it doesn't spit out a heading if not dictated?  Otherwise I do like EditScrip ...

Physical Exam Headings...
Apr 19, 2010

I really have a problem under the Physical Examination trying to figure out what goes where when the headings aren't dictated.  For instance, in this dictation, she dictates lungs, describes her exam of them, then goes on to say, "Mass in the back and the left paraspinous area is measured..."  Would this stay under the lungs or would I make a new heading...if so, if "Back" an acceptable heading? Next, she talks about the pelvis...would this go under a heading with a "Pelvis" labe ...

Verbatim Accounts And Headings
Dec 09, 2010

I have all verbatim-verbatim accounts and only just now learned that we have to change what the dictator says and change it to an "approved heading."  I was once told this only pertained to non-verbatim accounts, but was just corrected.  I was told that ALL OF THE CHECKED headings in the headings pane must be included in the document.  If the doctor says procedure, you must put in an approved heading into the standard changing what he says if in the approved headings list it says ...
