My husband who has also put up with this company for decades, stated it has been plastered all ove the news stations about the http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/03/world/asia/bangladesh-building-collapse/index.html Bangladesh building that collapsed and supposedly Wal-Mart and Disney hired factory workers from that particular building to do their clothes. News stations are reporting how Nike, Disney, Wal-Mart hire offshore for slave wages to do the work.
My husband said we all need to write in and send emails consistently to the news stations and tell them about MM doing the same thing, but NOT ONLY is the work being offshore for slave wages, but some of the United States MTs are being paid slave wages because some are making less than minimum wage, but MM is DOING THE RIGHT thing by having to pay minimum wage for that particular state, yet it is really SLAVE WAGES.
On a Wednesday, a group of factory workers complained about seeing large cracks in the building and were quite concerned. On Thursday and Friday, a lot of workers did not show up for work for fear of their lives because of the building cracks and felt it was not normal. On Friday, the manager, business owner and even the person who owned the building told the workers it was normal and there was no problem with the building or structure, just the looks of it was the only thing that was bad and was going to be fixed and told the workers that EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE AND IT WILL GET BETTER AND FIXED. Then on Monday the manager threatened the workers and told them all they had to be at work on Tuesday and whoever does not show up for work will be fired. The workers showed up on Tuesday around 8AM for fear of losing their jobs and around 9AM, the building collapsed like a pancake with thousands of workers in the buillding.
