MQ monitor - what is this

I received a "new" NEC LCD17V monitor from MQ today. In the monitor box was a base and a small black plastic piece inside a small plastic bag. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the small black plastic piece is for. Any ideas? TIA.

It looks like some kind of clip. It is rectangular and slightly curved on top, about 2 inches long.

The specs online say it can be wall mounted. - Perhaps that is what it is for.

this 2 inch piece could be a wall bracket. No mounting holes either.

I may have to call NEC and give them the part #. This is driving me a little crazy. I'm working fine without it, but I want to know exactly what it is before I throw it away.

If there is more than 1 cable, could it be a clip to hold your cables together in 1 spot to keep them organized?

two little hook-like pieces of plastic on its underside. That is why I think it is some kind of clip that attaches to the monitor in some way? It kinds of look like a small rectangular canoe with two little hooks coming out of the inside of it.

Back when I was with MQ (not there now), I got such a clip to put on the monitor to hold the plastic, laminated, and bound together bunch of shortcuts/tips for DQS that I received when I first started. Is it clear-colored? If it is, then that is what it is, to hold the laminated tips/shortcuts thingie they have.

I could mail you what I was sent. This would have been in July 2007. I still have it in a box in the closet and could mail it to you if you want it. I did find having the shortcuts helpful at times. If you do, post the reply by email with your mailing info, and I'll send it off in the next couple of days. It's small so no big deal to mail.

I have MS Word, IT, Bytescribe, and WordPad all up side-by-side at the same time. Then when I need to get on the internet I minimize those. I'm thinking it might be nice with a bigger screen to spread MS Word out bigger so the print will be bigger and easier to read. I know I could make it bigger by changing it from say 100% to 150% but I don't like to go bigger than the page width. I also might be able to leave the internet open too with a bigger monitor. I try not to even touch the monitor too much because of the plasma (or whatever it is inside there) but my flat screens could really use some cleaning. What do you use to clean yours?
