experience it. I do; however belong to a team that has about 16+ accounts on it, but for the most part I get my primaries 95% of the time.

Could it be that maybe you are on a team that has lots of accounts? or Maybe, your primaries dont have enough work so you find yourself in the helper pool alot? Just a thought.

With over 30 accounts in the BOB we only get H and P or stats that trickle in. It is like our own private cesspool.

job situation compared to most jobs. I can understand where the OP is coming from. A heckuva lot of MTs are in very bad circumstances of things like age, lack of enough money to jump into another situation, health reasons for not being able to work outside the home, or just being emotionally beaten down and not knowing just how to start over somewhere else.

The current MT situation certainly didn't happen overnight. I only stayed in an MTSO position for about 9 months before I HAD TO get out, but I can see where long-termers saw things changing little by little and kept hoping it would get better. I can understand the trusting mindset that WANTED to believe the companies when they promised this-or-that either would-or-wouldn't happen, only to have those promises melt away.

Yes, no job is perfect....but the working conditions which many suffer with under the current MTSO climate are pretty close to the worst abuses I've ever heard about in modern employment history. Some MTs' situations are unreal and are something I wouldn't believe a U.S. employee has to put up with in this day and age if I hadn't had a small taste of it myself.

You make a lot of good points, but the circumstances you just named off are not isolated to just the MT industry. There are also a lot of people in other jobs who feel "emotionally beaten down and dont know how to just start over somewhere else." And there are also plenty of folks stuck in jobs because they cant afford to go back to school and further their education or maybe they have been there so long, they figure they may as well stick it out and retire.

Everything you named applies to a great many people in this world, not just MTs. However, the good thing about working in areas of specialty such as nursing or MT work, YOU CAN look for another company and depending on where you live, you can apply to local hospitals and clinics who still have in-house staff. Just like nurses, lawyers, doctors have the freedom to move around, so do MTs.

MModal is only one of many companies. It may take time, but I would encourage anyone who is that unhappy to get started sending out resumes and seeking out other companies, clinics, hospitals etc. It has been my experience however, that most of the companies are all alike and I personally CHOOSE to stay with MModal because I dont know of any company out there right now that would match my line rates.

of course the paycuts have probably stopped industry wide..so you at least you know where you stand when you go..But Ive worked for 5 or 6 other places through the years and they all run out of work, they all have their stupid little problems..Face it this is no longer a profession, it is a typing pool..

So, if you are on your primary and secondary and there is work in your BOB, but a different BOB area needs help, you will be directed to new accounts by the team regional lead (police) and they will pool you to those accounts you have never done before because the account needs help getting caught up. Hopefully it does not happen to many times, but already has happened to me 5 times. Just in time to make my pay go down EVEN MORE!!!! ...

Why on earth the cesspool is back? I log on to work and I am getting work from "a helper pool" which I don't want to help. The work sucks and I feel bad for anyone who has to do this account regularly. I never agreed to be a helper for the helper pool. There is work in the accounts that I am used to!
